MASS INTENTIONS: 7:30 AM People of the Parish 9:00 AM Deceased Council of Catholic Women Members 10:30 AM Special Intention 12:00 PM Thomas McGraw 5:30 PM George Novatnak V O C A T I O N S Do you recognize Christ in your life and hope to make Him known to others? Perhaps you are being called to the priesthood or consecrated life. If you are considering this possibility, call Father Brian Wayne at or frbwayne@hbgdiocese.org. Without a doubt, today s gospel of the Disciples on the Road to Emmaus is one of my favorite passages in all the Scriptures. I find it amazing that what happened that first Easter Sunday 2000 years ago is what we still do at each and every Mass. We gather together and Jesus breaks the scriptures open for us and breaks the bread and we hear his voice and recognize his presence in the Eucharist. On the way, Jesus celebrates the second Mass! (The first was at the Last Supper.) The Church teaches that Jesus is present to us in four different ways at Mass: in the assembly ( where two or three gather in my name, there shall I be ); in the person of the priest who is acting in persona Christi, in the person of Christ; in the words of Scripture; and, in a most unique way, in the Holy Eucharist. If only we were to realize what happens at each Mass, we would never be bored or be tempted to stay away! Jesus is present to us in this most wonderful act of worship. Jesus is Risen and is with us to this very day! With Much Gratitude We wish to thank the sponsor of the week for advertising in our parish bulletin... BUDGET BLINDS, HARRISBURG FIRST FRIDAY ADORATION: May 5th, immediately following the 9am Mass, we will have Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, closing with Benediction at 9:45 PM. Evening Prayer is held at 7 PM. If you would like your name mentioned in the healing prayers, please notify the parish office by Thursday, May 4th. All parishioners are encouraged to come for an hour of adoration so that our Eucharistic Lord is attended throughout the day.

5 ST. JOAN OF ARC CATHOLIC CHURCH HERSHEY, PENNSYLVANIA The REP office would like to thank and acknowledge the following dedicated and faith-filled volunteers who taught and assisted in our Sunday classes which will meet for the last time on April 30: Alison Rankin, Amanda Unger, Ann Kurta, Ann Panchik. Anna Callahan, Annmarie Durnin, Ben Phillippy, Bethany Malloy, Bill McGregor, Carlee Rankin, Carly Civello, Carmen Eichman, Carol Danese, Cathy Scott, Christine Rankin, Christy Lucas, Dane Kreiss, Daniel Kreiss, Dave DeNotaris, Devin Kreiss, Evan Gusherowski, Francine Schertzer, Jamie Bolton, Joe Grecia, Joe Gusherowski, Julie Larkin, Kaitlyn Druby, Kate LaCoe, Kim Phillippy, Lauren Gusherowski, Lisarose Kreiss, Loretta Tootchen, Mei Nguyen, Olivia O'Donnell, Ryan Fischer, Samantha Koegler, Sr. Salvatoris, Sr. Eileen, Sue Weiss, Tim Reeves, Tony Mayan, Yvonne Jackson May God continue to bless them for their service to our parish children! God s Way The Road to Kindness Kindness what does it mean to you? It has a very special meaning to our Parish. Kindness starts at home and home to us is our Parish Family, and that s why this program is so important to us! God wants us to show our Kindness! Take some time to talk about the kind deeds that your family does during the day and week. If we could spend a few minutes a day talking about kindness, God s Way - The Road to Kindness will become clearer! This week, we had several acts of kindness to share: " My neighbor came to me with his bike asking if I had a wrench to remove a broken pedal. I was able to remove the pedals and install a good replacement that I found under my workbench." ~ Unknown " I am studying abroad in Beijing, China and yesterday I met someone who is learning English. I offered to help them study this week for their English test for free. Tonight was the first time we studied together and I was able to teach her a lot of new words and phrases in English. I hope she was happy with my help and that we become friends! I think it is very important to help these Chinese students so they can learn and understand more about America!" ~ Morgan " I have a bad habit of getting in the car and wanting to get there. In a hurry. I'm sorry to say that my driving etiquette was not always the kindest. In the past year, I have really tried to be more aware when I am in the car, slowing down, taking my time, and if somebody else is in a hurry, letting them be in a hurry. Letting people cut in front of me, when normally I wouldn't have done that. So while this is not a kindness for a specific person, it is a kindness for people in general. Especially those on the road." ~ Unknown Please share your act of kindness by ing them to: kindness@stjoanhershey.org JUNE 15th - 17th, 5-10pm The 43rd Annual SJA Festival will be held June 15, 16 & 17.
