2 LENT Begins this Wednesday, 5 th March ASH WEDNESDAY (Day of fast and abstinence) Ashes will be distributed at all Masses. We appreciate the efforts of many people to be present and to take part fully in the discussion. It is hoped that this event will lead to further meetings and conversations in the months and years ahead. The work of healing and building bridges will take time and effort. To book contact Care Services secretary on or Irish Language during Mass: It is proposed that some elements of the Mass should be celebrated in Irish during the same Mass on the 1 st Sunday of each month, and possibly during the celebration of Holy Mass on other occasions. Naturally we must respect the fact that not everyone is familiar with the Irish language and may not know any prayers in Irish. Wherever the Irish language is used it is hoped that those who do not have any knowledge of it will still feel fully a part of the celebration and will continue to pray within the community using whatever language for prayer they feel most comfortable with.
