Gym SUNDAY READINGS First Reading The widow of Zarephath had only a handful of flour and a little oil, but made a little cake for Elijah (1 Kings 17:10-16). Psalm Praise the Lord, my soul! (Psalm 146). Second Reading Christ will appear a second time to bring salvation to those who eagerly await him (Hebrews 9:24-28). Gospel This poor widow put in more than all the other contributors (Mark 12:38-44 [41-44]). MBS Parish has a long tradition of inviting its families to this particular parish gathering to share in prayer, food, and fellowship as a Church family. This year MBS will provide the turkey, dressing and side dishes. WE ARE ASKING PARISHONERS IN ATTENDENCE TO BRING A DESSERT TO SHARE. 2 Good Timers Thanksgiving Feast Parishioners age 50 and over are invited to join our Good Timers group for a Thanksgiving Feast. Wednesday, November 14th 12:00 Noon St. John Room Please bring a dessert to share! MBS Fair! A great big Thank You goes out to all who assisted in so many ways with our MBS Parish Fair. More information will be forthcoming concerning the funds raised as gross/ net issues are dealt with. From the community-building aspect of the weekend it was very inspirational. To all the coordinators of the various areas of the fair who were also in the trenches with the many volunteers who served- Thank You to all! Helping Families In Need This Thanksgiving Most Blessed Sacrament Social Responsibility is asking your assistance so that a family can enjoy a Happy Thanksgiving. If you know of a person or family (someone you work with, a neighborhood friend, acquaintance, etc.) who may be having difficult financial times or someone affected by recent flooding and would appreciate a gift voucher toward purchasing food for a Thanksgiving meal, please call the parish office at (225) There is a limit of 2 vouchers. Please use your discretion when deciding and the recipient s name will be anonymous. You, the caller, will be responsible for picking up the voucher/vouchers from the parish office and delivering to whom you requested. Happy Birthday to Fr. Donald Blanchard celebrating 75 years on Saturday, November 10th! We thank him for sharing his life with us at Most Blessed Sacrament. Parish Adora on Night Tuesday, November 20th M.B.S. Church 7:00 p.m. Praise and Worship music will be provided by our MBS house band. Adora on will be begin at 7:00 p.m. and end with Benedic on (a blessing with the Blessed Sacrament). All ages are welcome and we invite families to come together for this Ushers and Greeters are called to be Ministers of Hospitality. They are entrusted with promoting a sense of welcoming and belonging to all the faithful assembled for worship. They are many times the first point of contact of those entering our church/parish for the first time. We have a wonderful group of men and women that welcome every Sunday but are in need of some extra help for some of the masses. If you would like to join, please sign up at the table in the narthex of the church this weekend after any of the masses. Knights of Columbus Charity Calendars and Car Magnets The Knights of Columbus Most Blessed Sacrament Council will be selling their Charity Calendars after all masses on the weekends of: November 10th-11th and 24th-25th. These calendars sell for $20.00 each and each calendar enters the buyer into a daily drawing for Dollar Prizes. Additionally, the Knights will also be selling their Keep Christ in Christmas car magnets for $5.00. The profits from the sale of these calendars and car magnets assist the Knights in their many charitable endeavors throughout the year. Let s Help Our Veterans Our MBS Martha Ministry will be collecting socks and gloves for the Veterans at Garfield House and the homeless downtown. We will be accepting your donations through Nov. 19 th. Please drop your donations at the parish office or after mass in the baskets by the exits of church.

3 2018 MBS Parish Fair Went From Under The Big Top To Waay Over The Top!! Sending Out A Huge Thank You To All Our Volunteers! Let your imagina on run wild! It was definitely gumbo weather... They came from near and far to watch the school children perform (le ) and Cowboy Mouth Band dazzle the crowd (right).
