If you did not receive a brochure, please call the parish office, Helping Hands Food Pantry Next weekend, May 13th & 14th, there will be a second collection for our food pantry. You are also invited to bring groceries to help restock our shelves. Third Collection There will be a 3rd Collection next weekend, May 13th & 14th for the Trinity Dome at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. Every diocese in the United States has been asked to take up a special one-time collection to pay for the completion of the Trinity Dome at the Basilica. This project will finish our nation s patronal church which began nearly a century ago. This loose collection will be taken up at all the Masses on the weekend of May 13-14th. Please be as generous if you are able. Pot Luck Notice! If you are bringing a Pot Luck Dish for our 150th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, May 20th, please bring them to the gym after 3pm.

3 May 7, th Sunday of Easter Page 3 SYNOD 2017 You re invited to the Closing Mass for the Diocese of Gary Synod Sunday, June 4, at 2 p.m. at the Genesis Convention Center in Gary 1 Genesis Plaza Center (corner of 5th Avenue and Broadway) Doors will open at 12:45 p.m. Mass will be followed by a Eucharistic procession to Holy Angels Cathedral and Benediction. Please contact your parish office to confirm your attendance. Because of very limited parking at the Genesis Center and cathedral, participants are strongly encouraged to use the bus being provided by your parish. Transport buses at the site that day will be available for those with physical limitations. Don t forget reserve your spot through your parish office today! Lay Ecclesial Ministry Formation Program Information Session Bishop Donald J. Hying will be hosting an information session for those interested in learning more about the Diocese of Gary s Lay Ecclesial Ministry (LEM) Formation Program. The LEM Program is a four-year program that prepares lay women and men to serve as ecclesial ministers within their parishes, as well as throughout the diocese. Ecclesial ministers are defined as lay women and men who have been prepared professionally for specific roles of service and leadership in and for the Church. The LEM program is also a prerequisite for those men discerning their call to the permanent diaconate. Courses for the class of 2021 will begin September 2017 and the application process is open now. Bishop Donald J. Hying and Michael Wick, Chief of Staff will be present at the informational session to answer your questions. Take a 71-mile walk along the Camino de Santiago (the Way of St. James) to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in northern Spain. Along the way, meet other young pilgrims making the Spiritual trek, pray with your brothers and sisters, and join a community of pilgrims that for centuries has made the same journey toward Christ. Moms, dads, grandparents, and other caregivers are welcome to bring their infants, toddlers, and preschoolers to play, interact with other children, and make their first friendships. The grownups can enjoy adult conversation, make new friends and connections, share advice, and have a place to go with the little ones when the weather outside is frightful. This is a free will donation with the proceeds going to the Global Wheelchair Mission to provide wheelchairs around the globe to those in need.
