Louise Tracy, the NBCC helpers and her many Trinity helpers for decorating Trinity so beautifully for Christmas. JoAnne R. for crafting the beautiful end of pew swags. And to the Parishioners who brought in a special ornament for the Trinity Christmas Tree (please take it home for safe keeping after the service today- and bring it back next year. For all those who took part in the services from Dec 22nd Festival of Lessons and Carols through to the Christmas mornings service - as Trinity held a total of seven services over 4 days. Your support was most appreciated. 4

5 To Spencer Belyea, the Trinity Choir (Deanery Choir St. Luke's St Mary's St. Bartholomew & Trinity - Dec 22nd) and to Mary Louise Belyea for the musical leadership and her two beautiful solo's, C is for the Christ Child and O Holy Night. James McKenna for Christmas morning music accompaniment. The music was beautiful - thank you. To Jemma, Lilla, Pippa, Lila & Hudson for reading and serving as sides persons for the Christmas Eve family service. Thank you. And Cindy & Spencer's granddaughter who helped close out the family service with me - she was beautiful. To Joanne McGraw and Tracy Saunders who work in the background to make it all happen - the tremendous efforts by you two made all those who visited Trinity over this Christmas feel welcome. Thank you. To the wonderful worship team, Rev. Thomas Graham, Julian Webb, James McKenna and Susanne Sutton who assisted at the Christmas Eve Candlelight service - it was awesome. Thank you to Stephen Mott for sharing his musical ministry with his Trinity family. - Always a treat to hear your gift in this beautiful space (thanks for your evening of playing with your colleagues during Sparkles Uptown as well). A huge thankyou to you, the Parish of Saint John, Trinity for making worship a priority and being with us over this Advent - Christmas Season. Scribner Trinity Winter Worship Today, Sunday December 30th will be our last Sunday in the Church for this winter. We will worship in the Bennett Room commencing January 6th through to April 7th returning to the Church on April 14th for Palm Sunday. The monetary savings in maintaining the church at 5 deg. C throughout the winter months is approximately $4-$5,000 depending on the severity of the winter temperatures. I look forward to our time together in the Bennett Room which provides a close sense of community during those cool brisk Sunday mornings. 5

6 Bible Study Wednesday morning Bible Study will resume January 9 at 9:30-11:00 am on the third floor meeting room. The six week program will be exploring the writings of Mr. Dallas Willard's book titled 'The Divine Conspiracy; Rediscovering our hidden life in God.' Dallas Willard makes a compelling argument for the relevance of God to every aspect of our existence. Wk 1 - Jan 9 - The Divine Conspiracy Wk 2 - Jan 16 - The Path to a Blessed Life Wk 3 - Jan 23 - Becoming a Good Person Wk 4 - Jan 30 - Treasuring What Matters Most Wk 5 - Feb 6 - Becoming a Community of Prayerful Love Wk 6 - Feb 13 - Living as a Disciple of Jesus I will provide some printed material, however if you would like to access the book itself it can be found on Amazon. ca for $31.99 Cdn or maybe in the library or on line for a download if you are so inclined. I was provided a copy of this book to read by Ven. Harold Hazen prior to my fall leave to the south. I spent many hours slowly reading this wonderful work. And would suggest in all that I have read, it rates at the very top. Worth the investment of $32.00 and the time. Look forward to our time together in January - for a hot drink, snack and great conversation. Following this six week session on the Divine Conspiracy we will take a three week session on Baptism for the Baptized - what you may or may not know about your Baptism - you might be surprised! Rev. 7 Trinity Cereal Sunday: The first Sunday of each month is Cereal Sunday. Please pick up an extra box of cereal with your grocery order and bring it to Church on this Sunday. By this gift Trinity is supporting St. Luke s street ministry who make available through the week cereal to anyone who comes through their doors. Each Sunday, Trinity receives upwards of thirty boxes which are delivered on the following Monday. What an amazing collection of cereal! The support of your congregation continues to humble me! Mitten Tree: If you are not a knitter, please consider purchasing some warm items. There is a great need in our parish for both adult and children s sizes. Your generosity and warm hearts will help keep some ears, fingers and toes cozy this winter! 2018 Tax Receipts: All donations for the year 2018 must be received at the Church office on or before December 31 st, 2018 before a 2018 Tax Receipt can be issued. 7

8 Please: bring in your used stamps and place them in the basket provided in the main hall. The stamps are sent off to be sold and end up benefitting underprivileged children in the third world. Liturgies used at Trinity: Trinity has in the past, a history in using both the Book of Common Prayer (B.C.P.) and the Book of Alternative Services (B.A.S.). As of late it has been B.C.P., going forward, we will introduce the B.A.S. Eucharist Service on July 29 th, We will use the B.A.S. on the 4 th Sunday of each month at the 10:30 am service. There will be an insert available for the Order of Service (B.A.S.) Eucharist when arriving on Sunday morning. Rev. Steven G. 9 The 25th Annual Community Festival of Carols and Lessons held on December 25, 2018 was a wonderful return to its' former glory I would suggest through the hard work of many, especially our Organist and Choir Director, Spencer Belyea who working with his fellow colleagues, Kevin Langford and Stephen Alexander, Organists and Choir Directors of St. Luke's and St. Mary's St Bartholomew Anglican Churches and their respective choirs. They have formed the Saint John Deanery Choir. This thirty-two voice choir lead by the three accomplished music directors, supported by Mr. Michael Molloy and the 3rd Regiment Brass Quintet provided the background for the revived Community Service. As is our practice, the Free Will Offering is donated to a worthy Community ministry. In recent years, Safe Harbor Shelter, 2017 Inner City Youth Ministry (ICYM) - and this year, 2018, the total received, $ will be forwarded to the Roman Catholic / Anglican initiative under the International Anglican and Roman Catholic Commission for Unity and Mission (IARCCUM) program titled Dads and Tots. This uptown program provides the opportunity for the fathers and children to engage in focus times together and to assist in enhancing parenting skills. Thank you to all who were part of this wonderful evening. New Year s Day Eucharist & Bishop s Reception: All are invited to join in a celebration of the Holy Eucharist, 11:00 am on January 1 st, 2019 at Christ Church Cathedral, Fredericton, NB followed by the Bishop s Reception. 9

Come out and experience one of the greatest Blues artists of New Brunswick who has performed with such greats as Dutch Mason. This is a fundraiser for your Trinity Steeple Capital Campaign.
