Baptisms are held on the 2 nd Sunday after the 12pm Mass. Marriage: Arrangements are made for previously registered and participating parishioners with six months of preparation. Religious Ed Classes (PK-8): Religious education classes begin with the 9am Sunday Mass, followed by an hour of classroom instruction, August- May. Rite of Christian Formation (RCIA): Classes will begin in September for personal instruction available on Wednesdays from 7:15pm to 8:30pm from September - April. Women s Guild: Monthly meetings are held at 9:30am on the second Wednesday of the month from October to May. Boutique workshops are held weekly on Wednesdays at 9:30am. Men s Club: Meetings on the 4th Tuesday, Sept - May. Breakfast is hosted after First Friday 8:45am Mass. Divine Will Group meets Wednesday evenings from 6-8pm and Saturday from 2-4pm in the Parish Hall. Monthly Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on the 3rd Sunday, 1-3pm. Our Novena and Benediction Service and Rosary: Please join us Monday-Saturday at 8:20am for the Rosary and on Mondays for our Novena and Benediction service immediately following the 8:45am Mass.

3 Twenty-seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time October 7, 2018 Holy Mary, pray for us! Americans can appear to be abrupt, insensitive and partisan to an outsider. The pace of life we live may give that impression to anyone. But deep down, we Americans are very compassionate, understanding and respectful. Nowhere does the quality of character of Americans surface as much as the respect that each one shows to the person who gave life - their mothers. Deep down, there is a tremendous appreciation and respect for the person who brought forth the life we live. Christianity has its "Mother." In the person of Mary, who bore the Messiah in human form, we acknowledge the pre-eminent position of this woman who had such a vital role in the redemption of mankind. Because of her role, she has been elevated from the earliest days of the Church to the "First Woman of Christianity." The Virgin Mother Mary had three great privileges in her lifetime 2000 years ago. The first and greatest, and the source of the other two, was her divine motherhood. Through the intervention of the Holy Spirit, Mary conceived and bore a son who was called Jesus. The Blessed Mother can be a powerful model and intercessor for us who face the challenges of life in the twenty-first century. The restoration of the family through solid marriages, the reversal of the culture of violence that has overtaken our society and the reinforcement of Godly values in public and private are objectives which should call us back to Mary's shining example, back to the Rosary, back to her prayerful support in our struggles. In celebration of the Diamond Jubilee of the Archdiocese of Miami, Archbishop Wenski invites you to join him for Solemn Vespers and Conferral of Diocesan Honors at 5pm on Sunday, October 7 th at St. Mary s Cathedral. Mary Joe Clark and Rebecca Poljak will be honored at this celebration for being missionary disciples at St. John the Baptist by the witness of their lives and their participation in parish life.

Such giving, in a true stewardship fashion, makes it possible to operate our wonderful Parish and provide the many spiritual, educational and social services to our people and our community. I appreciate that many of you make sacrifices to share your resources with the Lord, but be reassured that anything done or given in His name will not go unrewarded. Because God is really all that matters in life, our focus must always be on Him even in our daily routine.
