3 Spiritual Formation / Happenings Around the Parish RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS Living Rosary & May Crowning We will gather in church for the Living Rosary on Wednesday May 11th, at 7:00 PM. All parishioners are invited to participate in the Living Rosary, sponsored by the Knights of Columbus & CCD. At this time, the Communion children will also take part in the May Crowning. Members are asked to donate cookies. Vacation Bible School June Time: 9:00 AM Noon Ages: 4-11 (VBS Flyer inside bulletin) Come join your friends and neighbors in meeting Jesus at the beach for Vacation Bible School, June Registration, consent forms and volunteer forms are in the back of the church. Please return forms as soon as possible. Deadline is by June 10. May 16 VBS Volunteer Meeting There will be an adult volunteer meeting for Vacation Bible School on Monday, May 16 at 7:00 PM in the meeting room. Attention Graduating Seniors High school graduates will be honored at the 10:00 AM Mass on Sunday, June 12 th. We know that there are graduating seniors who are members of our parish from Deer Lakes and other school districts please give us a call at , to let us know what school you are graduating from and if you will be able to attend the June 12th liturgy. We ask that students wear their cap and gowns and process into church with Fr. Jim that day. Thank you Transfiguration Tutoring Program Transfiguration s Tutoring Program is officially ending the week of May 9. Thank you to all the tutors who gave of their time this school year to support the program and help students. Any student needing help preparing for the Keystone tests or a final exam, please call the office at to arrange for a tutor. Sacraments Anointing of the Sick: Contact Fr. Jim after Mass if you have a serious illness or an upcoming surgery, for a special anointing. Baptism: Sundays after the 10 AM Mass. Call the rectory office to schedule. Confirmation: Sacrament is usually conferred in the Spring. Marriage: Contact Parish 6-9 months prior to wedding. Ministry to the Homebound: Call the rectory if you are homebound or in the hospital and want to receive Holy Communion. Religious Education: Sundays 11:15 AM 12:45 PM for K-8 grades in public schools. RCIA: Interested in learning more about becoming a Catholic Christian? 4 Parish Service Organizations, Councils and Committees Ladies of Charity News NEXT MEETING DATE: MAY 17 at 7:00 PM (Church Meeting Room) MAY PRAYER INTENTION: We pray that all people will pray the rosary and develop a greater devotion to the Blessed Mother PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY: You may request a prayer shawl for yourself or someone you know. Prayer Shawl request forms are in the mailbox bin located on the table in front of the meeting room and are available on-line at Social Ministry Happenings. WORLD DAY OF PRAYER ( MAY 9): Please try to attend Mass or spend some extra time in prayer that day. Come sit by our Blessed Mother in front of the Rectory House or pray for her most holy intercession to her Beloved Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ. PARISH SOCIALS: The Rosary Society will be our hostesses for the May 14 & 15 Socials. This will be our last social before our summer break. Please note this is a week earlier than our usual dates. PRAYER GROUP MEETING: MAY 19 AT 7:00 PM LAWN CROSSES: Show your faith by displaying a lawn cross at your home or cemetery. Crosses available in front of meeting room. Suggested donation is $5. WEST DEER CLEAN UP: Thank you to the leaders and boys of the TRC Boy Scout Troop #169, Amy and Steve Handrahan, Ryan Wigley, Craig Wigley, Earl and Braden Fish, for their participation in the clean-up. They were joined by a neighbor, Sara Bogan. We also thank Judi Damon & Scott Woloczyk for organizing the group. The township looks much cleaner thanks to everyone s efforts. Great Job! Rosary Society.and other Marian News. The Rosary Society is reciting the Rosary one-half hour before each Mass during the month of MAY. If anyone is interested in joining us to honor the Blessed Mother, and would like to lead the Recitation of the Rosary, please contact Marlene Mennow at PILGRIMAGE TO OUR LADY OF LOURDES SHRINE - DATE: June 28, Please call Holy Sepulcher Parish if interested in going on this one day pilgrimage to Euclid, OH. Cost is $45 per person and payment is due by June 1st. Call before sending in your check to confirm seating. SUMMER HELP NEEDED: Transfiguration Parish needs those who are 18 years or older and have graduated from high school to help us conduct a parish census for the months of June, July and August You will make phone calls to gather information needed per a census form and possible home visits will be required. An hourly rate will be given. Please Call Diane or Mary Jo in the parish office ( ) to sign up. LOST & FOUND: A blue and black plain winter coat was left in the CCD classroom.
