PHIL REFLECTIONS ON THE 15TH SUNDAY OF ORDINARY TIME CYCLE B The greatest news that the twelve disciples carried with them wherever they traveled was the good news of Jesus. Jesus knew that the disciples would make mistakes, but at the same time it was time for the disciples to do what Jesus had instructed them to do. The mission that Jesus gave to His disciples and gives to us comes from the Father. He received this mission when He was baptized by John. It is both awesome and humbling to realize that Jesus entrusts His mission to us. God has bestowed upon us a divine favor in Jesus Christ. By our Baptisms we are challenged to be bearers of the Good News and to preach repentance. This raises some questions for our considerations. When was the last time any of us thought about our Baptism or what this rite says? What does it mean to be a parish community and a collaborative that passes on the Good News of Jesus to others? How do evangelization and social action go hand in hand? How do we help others discover their inner gifts to promote God s Kingdom of love, justice and mercy? Do we let people know what they mean to us and how they reflect God to us? Do we see in our new collaborative new opportunities to share all we have with others? There are going to be great opportunities ahead to build God s kingdom. CATHOLIC TV MASS Our own Fr. Ixon Chateau will, once again, celebrate the Sunday Mass for Catholic TV! The taping is scheduled for Tuesday, July 31 at 1pm at the CatholicTV studio in Watertown. Accompanying Fr. Ixon will be Felicia Kopelman-Hayes, our Director of Music, along with members of our choir who will be providing music for Mass. The Mass will be aired on CatholicTV on Sunday, August 5th at 7pm. With many families having relatives around the world who are Priests or Deacons and who might be visiting you this summer, I wanted to call this to your attention so that no one will be disappointed.
