Greetings unto Bordermarch and Friends, The time has come to give you the official time-line for the transition of our holding these lands for the Crown of Ansteorra and others to follow in our footsteps. It has been a joy and one of our greatest accomplishments as a couple to sit as B&B and be a part of the SCA. We have made so many good friends near and far and look forward to continuing to play in the areas of arts, science and service. Kingdom has sent the following: *Letters of intent due August 30, 2015, please send to The Crown, Coronet, B&B and Kingdom Seneschal *Letters will be published September 1, 2015 in a special Trumpeter edition *Polling will be at September s populace meeting *Interviews will be held at Seawinds Defender Oct 24,2015 with a possible announcement at that time. *Investiture will be at War of the Rams November If you have any further questions or concerns please don t hesitate to contact us by cell or in a PM. 5 What a beloved journey it has been with Their Excellencies Santiago and Elizabeth

6 M Lady Melia de La Renaudiere On this 17 th day of August, 2015, I, Melia de La Renaudiere of the Barony of Bordermarch wish unto Their Stellar Majesties of Ansteorra, Sven Randullsson and Antigone of York, Their Stellar Highnesses Creppin l Ostriche and Toryn Sevenstitches, the Kingdom Seneschal Don Brian o huilliam, Their Excellencies Santiago de Monte Verde and Elisabeth de Montvert, and to the wonderful populace of the Barony of Bordermarch very warm greetings and well wishes. It is my desire to inform all of the above of my intention to put forth my name as a contender for Baroness of Bordermarch. It is my hope that within my words, you will see that I have given considerable thought to why I want this position and why I feel I am qualified for it. I did not decide to do this lightly, but reverently with lots of soul searching. I am fully aware of the time, attention, and commitment that is required of any Baroness/Baron to facilitate The Dream, not just for myself but for others, as well. First, I would like to bid TE Baron Santiago and Baroness Elisabeth a very happy and wondrous retirement. You both have been excellent role models within our borders. You have shown others and me untold grace, friendship, hospitality, love and as always you have encouraged all of us to be better than we thought we were. Your leadership in the many events, meetings, A&S days, etc has been a blessing to this Barony for many years. Now, I admit freely that I hold no titles or awards besides m lady, but that has not stopped me from stepping forward to assist where it is needed. Mundanely, I have been working with and around volunteer organizations for the last 17+ years in some capacity either as a worker bee or to hold office positions both in my personal and professional lives. I have a fairly good idea of what it takes to get people to volunteer and what it is like to experience burn-out. I am a mother of two lovely children (23 and 14) who think I am the weirdest Mom on the planet and yes, that is a good thing! I have a steady and self-fulling career (16 yrs.), and I have lived in Mauriceville, TX for over 20 years. I have developed a reputation of being a fair and considerate person who listens first, then speaks. I love to help others in need and I try hard to encourage, entice or educate those around me to try new things and to live a good life. From the time I was a wee one, I have had a love of Medieval and Renaissance Eras. So when I found the Barony of Bordermarch and I attended a few fighter practices and events, I knew that this was where I was meant to be, in the SCA with Bordermarchers, researching things, sewing Garb, listening to Bards and watching acts of prowess and skill on the battle fields. I love to live in this Dream!

7 My history is not as long as others within this Barony, but I have made the most of my time and energies since being here. I attended the warranted classes for Exchequer during the Round Table at the Jan 2015 Gathering. And currently, I am holding a deputy position. I was the Bordermarch Liaison for the Grand Coastal Baronial Event 2015 and I organized the waterbearing tables, port-a-john schedules, supported the Archery range and coordinators and painted scrolls. I am the current deputy A&S Officer were weekly I try to locate different A&S topics and research materials from different sources and I will post them unto the Bordermarch Facebook Unofficial page in an attempt to entice our members to try something old and make it new. And I submit a monthly report to Baron Santiago of what my fellow Bordermarchers are doing, making, or researching. I am considered a Dance Angel by Isabella della Rosa who leads me and several others in European Dance Classes twice a month. I am a member of the Scribal Guild and I love to sample whatever our Brewers can dream up. I am the Event Steward for BAM 2015 and I have two very wonderful co-stewards who are willing and able to handle the event just fine in my absence or (hopefully) elevation to Baroness. BUT Mostly, I love to sew, to weave, and to create beautiful works of beaded jeweled art. And I currently attend the Loch Soilleir Weaving meetings, so that I can learn from others and to support my fellow SCA members in other Baronies. Hopefully, what I lack in years of committed service to the Crown, I hope you can see that I enjoy living in this Dream. I am truly blessed to be in such great company as those found in this Kingdom and this Barony. So to the Crown and Coronet of Ansteorra; thank you for taking a moment to read my letter. I hope I adequately described to you a sense of who I am. Now what I hope to accomplish within this Barony is to carry on with some old traditions and to develop new ones. To cherish and build memories with others and to continue growing this Barony through recruitment and sponsoring youth activities to get young ones interested in the SCA. Yes, I know everyone says these things and some will even follow through with them. But one never knows what the future will hold and all I can do is work with the Members of Bordermarch and creatively think of ways to do all of these things and more. Please know that I have reviewed the Governing Documents of the SCA and I am willing and able to carry forth and support the actions of the Crown. I firmly believe that I would make a great Baronial representative to the Crown of Ansteorra. And I feel that I am prepared to make whatever sacrifices are necessary to support My Barony, My Kingdom and the SCA. I humbly ask for your blessing to be the next Bordermarch Baroness. And last but definitely not least, to the populace of Bordermarch, thank you all for being unique and generous. Thank you for your friendship and support all these many months. Each and every one of you brings something to this Barony. Through your actions and deeds, this Barony has grown and bloomed with talents and camaraderie. From the fighters in the park to the European Dancers and Brewers at the Art Studio, you guys ROCK! **Ahem** I mean you continue to amaze me with your passion for playing and living this dream. Whether I am selected as your next Baroness or not, I am always here to support you and your dream and I will avail myself to you in all matters of communication, be it through text, call, IM, , you name it, I will be there. 8 M Lord Merik Red Ax & Lady Gabrielle de Lacy Greetings unto the Stellar Kingdom of Ansteorra, Their Majesties Sven II and Antigone II, as well unto your Heirs Apparent, Creppin and Toryn, and also to our beloved Barony Bordermarch. We do hope this missive finds you all in good health and good spirits. It is with this letter that we, Merik Red Ax and Gabrielle de Lacy ask their Majesties to consider us in their upcoming decision on who will be the next Baron and Baroness of Bordermarch. M Lord Merik has been active for five years, and enjoys participating in the arts of combat and chivalry, and in the arts of blacksmithing. In the mundane world he is a manager for the railroad and has been in the industry for over 8 years. Lady Gabrielle has been active for fifteen years and has grown up serving Bordermarch, fighting rapier, and learning valuable skills. She received her Rising Star in 2004 and her A.O.A. in In the mundane word she is a stay at home mother with a background in childcare. Together we are raising our daughter as the future generation of Ansteorra. After seeking council and taking much consideration of the duties of said positions, we have an understanding of the emotional gain as well as the emotional strain that comes with this office. We feel confident and ready to fulfill duties and responsibilities as future Baron and Baroness. HE Santiago and HE Elisabeth have served Bordermarch greatly. We are most saddened by their time ending as Baron and Baroness. We look forward to the task of serving Bordermarch as their successors.
