5 Greetings all, We hope your Holiday is going well. Our thanks to all for the Holiday well wishes and your company over the last week. At this time of year we find ourselves thinking of how fortunate we truly are to have been entrusted with such a fine Barony and its populace to oversee and to guide into the future. The accomplishments and personal growth we see within this Barony make us glow with pride. We would not want to live anywhere else in the Kingdom. 6 Greetings, Yup it's cold now. The weather is really making it hard to wear flip flops and shorts. This year our Yule party will be located at my harbor. Directions are on the baronial website. If you can we are asking that you park across the street in the Eisenhower Jr high parking lot that way there will be parking for those with children or any other special needs close to the house. Preparations for Kingdom Arts and Sciences are now underway. If you are thinking about helping or wanting to know what you can do to help please get in touch with our baroness Audrella or Mistress Penelope. 7 Greetings unto the fair populace of Eldern Hills! I hope that everyone is having a safe and happy holiday season! There's not that much to report at this time due to the holidays. We've had a pretty steady attendance at populace meetings. A few new members here and there! Keep bringing them in, guys! I have decided to try to put together a "Newcomer's Booklet" to hand out when a newcomer fills out our newcomers information sheet. I would like to hear some ideas as to what should be in there and what you, as a Barony, would like to see in there. One of the things that I have found while going through all the Hospitaler "stuff" is a list of folks that were willing to help the populace with projects. Now the list that I have currently is quite old. So, I would very much like to have a new list. In this, I will be passing a piece of paper around for the next few meetings. I would like to have your SCA name, your mundane name, contact information, and what you would be willing to teach/demonstrate/help with. In regards to the loaner garb and feast gear, I know that many of you borrowed some of these items at Samhain. When I packed things up, I noticed that I am missing some items, mostly silverware from the feast gear. If you have it, or have some spares to replace them, it would be greatly appreciated. 9 Greetings all, With winter upon us I ask that everyone stay warm and safe. We have moved fighter practice to the Gym at Central High. Same time and day of the week though. As the Holidays roll in and consume all of our precious time, Don't forget to take the time to keep practicing and stretching to keep your muscles ready. Yule is coming up n Duncan and I look forward to seeing you all there. I have not received any word on any demos coming up any time soon so that is something we do not have to worry about as of yet. All who attended had a great time and learned much from the class. We send our heartfelt thanks to them for gracing our Barony with their expertise. 11 Greetings all, With Winter coming, the pages is going to look as beautiful then ever. However, this doesn t mean everybody cant send something in to put in the pages. If you have a project you want people to see send me the forms and pictures and info on the project. Or you have a poem or a song you want the populace to hear or read, send them into the Eldern Pages. If you cant put them in this month, there's always the month after that month. 15 Greetings all, I brought this up briefly at the meeting, but would like to post here for everyone's input. I would like to put together a booklet that can be handed out to newcomers. In this booklet, I will be putting things like how to sew a basic tunic, what to take to your first event, and things along those lines. I would also like to include a list of SCA members who would be willing to be listed as someone who can teach newcomers something. So...if you are willing to be listed, please send me your mundane name, your SCA name, what you would be willing to teach, and a way for them to contact you, either or phone. I would like to include a photo of you as well so they can put a face to the name. Please let me know if you are willing to let me use a photo of you or not. I would also like to hear from the populace on what else they think should be included in this booklet. Please keep in mind that I'd like to keep this down to about pages, front and back. Please, please send me some input!!! I am going to do this, one way or another, but I would seriously like to have some input from the populace! You guys are the biggest reason that I have agreed to be the Hospitaler!! YOU, the populace, are what keeps the barony working so well together!
