St. John the Baptist Parish Plymouth Dear Parishioners: After discussing the matter with staff, I have decided that Eucharistic Adoration on Mondays (4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.) really ought to take place in the Church proper. There are a number of factors which were discussed the school s need for space, alternative possible uses of what s come to be known as the Adoration Room, accessibility, security, etc. But the fundamental reason is that respect for the Eucharist dictates that Eucharistic Adoration take place in dedicated sacred space. So, beginning with the first Monday in November (Nov. 6th), Eucharistic Adoration will be conducted in the Church, with the monstrance holding the Host centered on the altar. The Divine Mercy portrait, donated by Dottie Diedrich, will be mounted on the wall in our day chapel. The statues of Mary and Joseph, donated by Joe and Sue Pallus, will be returned to the school library, where they originally stood on either side of the large window. Thank you for your understanding. Fr. Phil In Loving Memory Our parish family extends its sympathy to the families of Naomi Huberty, Jerry Mueller and Ken Eirich May they, with God s Blessing, Rest in Peace. If you ve been coming to Mass for a while, but are not Catholic, we invite you to look deeper into the Catholic faith. Come meet some faithful Catholics who love the Lord and would consider it a privilege to get to know you. A Message from the Principal s Desk ~ Recently I saw a bulletin board that really seemed to fit with what St. John the Baptist School s mission is all about. It was titled, 9 Apps for Life. The 9 Apps were: love God serve others grow daily know God get wisdom excel daily trust God please God dream big The teachers, support staff and I work hard on a daily basis to make disciples of our students and to instill a love of learning in them. As the principal, it gives me great pride to witness the teachers and students experiencing any one of the 9 apps listed above. It is my responsibility to guide my staff and my students in following our mission and to provide opportunities for them to be able to experience living out our mission. I am grateful for the support and guidance that we receive from Father Phil and from our families. I am appreciative of all of the support from our parish members. May our students continue to grow in knowledge of the Catholic faith, strive for personal and academic excellence and serve others! Autumn Blessings, Mrs. Amy Nelson Anchor of Hope Thank you for the donations to help those in need. We provided everything from baby wipes to high chairs. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
