3 From the East Brethren, From the youngest Entered Apprentice in the northeast corner of the lodge, to the Worshipful Master in the east, the brethren of Sunnyside Lodge has matured as a collective. We no longer feel perpetually distant to each other. Our accomplishments evidently has provided us to be strong-willed, now we can move forward in achieving perfection. After winning the district and division competition, our standards has been raised to meet future challenges and endeavors as we travel down the road. The eyes of our fraternity are once again upon us, we should be more vigilant of each other. I ask that we be more modest and practice humility. Remember those great moral duties which are inculcated in it to always influence our hearts and minds throughout our masonic life. Fraternally yours and upon the square, Lawrence P. Salomon, WM From the South Brethren, Greetings my brothers, as always we have been very busy in all activities/ events in our Lodge. We will be having 3 candidates to be raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason this coming October 8, 2016 followed by our Lodge Luau/ Hawaiian at dinner time. Sumptous Filipino dishes will be served. I would also like to thank all the brothers and candidates who helped with the setup, food preparations and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen. Our Sunnyside Ladies who allow us to be in the lodge not only on Tuesdays but in every activities and special meetings. Lastly, I would like to take this oppurtunity to Congratulate Sunnyside Lodge #577 for being the Distict and Division X Team Competition Ritual CHAMPIONS I am very proud and so excited to attend the awards night this forthcoming Annual Communication (ANCOM) this October 28-30,2016. 4 From the West Hello Sunnyside, Brethren, Masonic year 2017 is almost upon us. Let us reflect on all the things that have happened to our beloved fraternity and learn from the past and look forward to the future. We take the good, We take the Bad, we take them both and there we have the Facts of our masonic lives. Come November we are going to have new set of officers to elect, most of them you already know, support and assist them in anyway you can, remember they are not the bosses they are there to serve this Grand and Noble order. but they cannot do it alone, we have to work together, this is something we are all very familiar with because we been practicing it all along and we are good at it, so let us just continue and join hands together and RISE. As a result if don't already know it,your very own Sunnyside Degree Team won the Rituals Competition in the 6th District and was owned later as the division CHAMPIONS. a very hard feat to do because it is a 14 man action and having that said the margin of error is great. So don't hesitate to stop and congratulate them,they are going to be recognized in the Grand Lodge annual communication this coming October 2016 and also your very Kuya Arnold Arroyo won the district for the staircase lecture(357) and he is not even a Senior Deacon...Something you Guys ought to be proud to be a part of, and all you have to do is be a sunnyside member! and while we are at it, we are going to have a second degree team to be trained in the rituals of our degrees, any body interested are welcome, just approach any of your lodge officers or myself. Congratulations to our newly Passed Brothers Arvin Gamboa, Ryan Layno and Carlo Magno and also to Noel Pastrana who delivered his second degree proficiency in long form and also to Louie Navarro, and welcome to our Fraternity our newly Obligated brother Remo Boone. 5 CALENDAR OF EVENTS From the desk of Jacques DeMolay To all light seekers, may your path to the promised land be illuminated with wisdom, strength and beauty. As September was a fruitful month for Sunnyside Lodge, so was with Long Beach DeMolay. Last Conclave held on Sept 2, 3 and 4 Long Beach Chapter received a plaque as Chapter of the year. Bro. Josh Camantigue received a plaque with Distinguished Service Award from International Supreme Council Order of DeMolay. I humbly to announced that I received a Guild of the Leather Apron medal as Advisor of the year also from ISC. During Conclave, Long Beach Chapter had four members who received their DeMolay degree. We had a very successful BBQ fundraising held on September 18, We raised almost $1, I want to thank all the ladies and brethren who supported us. Our next meeting is on October 12, 2016 at 6:30 pm for Advisory Council and then 7:30 pm for Stated Meeting. October 26,2016 at 6:30 pm for pot luck and then our regular meeting at 7:30 pm. November 19, 2016, Saturday at 6pm is our Semi- Annual Installation of Officers. Incoming Master Councilor is Rico Asuncion, son of Bro. Rey Asuncion. Fraternally, Mario Camantigue P.M.
