Dear Friends, Now, I issue my annual call for suppor offer o be your agen o help elderly Jewish poor observe Passover! The conribuions you send, or he Passover food you bring allows hese forgoen and lonely uncles and auns (yes, yes, hey are our family) o celebrae wih a simple Seder which oherwise hey could no have done In he name of our Temple I send Tzedakah (correc ranslaion: "responsibiliy" no "chariy") o MAZON, ha Naional Oureach whose name means "food," and whose work brings susenance o he hungry (Jew and non-jew) no merely a Passover, bu hroughou he year We provide Seder food o uncles and auns who live - many in fear - on he Lower Eas Side; no for hem a place of pleasan nosalgia We have, since he beginning of he Appeal, suppored hose living in dark and lonely aparmens, surrounding Brooklyn's Brighon Beach Las year he bulk of our work, as his year, will be done on he Upper Wes Side, hrough he Agency called DOROT, (ranslaed, "generaions ") Taking our food and our cash conribuions, our sudens ravel o a Synagogue basemen in an area we consider affluen and joined wih voluneers from he communiy o pack Seder parcels for he many old and poor Jews who live in ren conrolled and public housing on srees which are only a few minues walk from he Columbus A venue Bouiques and rendy resaurans mos of hem have never visied (as if in anoher world!)
