2 2 Holy Week Worship Schedule Experience the mystery of this holy, hope-filled week. Maundy Thursday, April 18 10:30 a.m.... St. Andrew s Village 12 noon... Great Hall (no luncheon) 7 p.m.... Sanctuary With First Communion Skipping Stone Celebration. Join Jesus as he gathers with his disciples, on the night that he is betrayed, for his Last Supper. We will celebrate with those receiving their First Communion in the evening and will wait and watch in silence as the altar is stripped at noon and 7 p.m., reminding us of Jesus as he is stripped, whipped and taken to prison. Nursery and childcare available. Good Friday, April 19 Good Friday Interactive Worship 11 a.m., 1 and 3 p.m.... begins outside the Great Hall Walking the Story of Jesus This indoor/outdoor, all-ages interactive worship experience traces the journey of Jesus beginning with Palm Sunday in the Great Hall and ending at the Tomb in the Sanctuary. All are welcome. Bring your strollers, wagons, wheelchairs and walkers. Invite friends, neighbors, those who know the story and those new to the story. Begin the experience in the Marketplace 30 minutes before each service. Good Friday Passion Service 7 p.m.... Sanctuary The theme Tree of Glory is expressed through deeply moving music presented by St. Andrew s Choir, Orchestra and Youth Ensemble. Scripture readings, music and sermon come together to focus our hearts and minds on God s great love and sacrifice for us. FREE Hugo Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, April 20, 10 a.m.-noon at Hanifl Park The Depot Church is partnering with The Fry Group, TGK Auto, JDog Junk Removal, Family First Chiropractic, and Legacy Title to put together the First Annual Easter Egg Hunt Bonanza! This is a free event for children ages Hunt for Easter eggs, snap pictures with the Easter Bunny taken by Julie Michelle Photography, and more! Donations accepted for the Yellow Ribbon Network. Come to Easter at The Depot Church. New Life, New You! Busy Easter morning? No worries! Come to The Depot Church at Oneka Elementry in Hugo on Easter Sunday at 5:15 pm! We will be celebrating our risen Lord with a fun family worship service with gifts for the kids, baby animals to remember the new life we have in Christ and joy-filled praise with our full Depot Church Band!

3 Holy Week Prayer Vigil Sanctuary Prayer Chapel; Begins Maundy Thursday, April 18, at 8 p.m.; Ends Saturday, April 20, at 8 a.m. As a part of our Holy Week observance we are inviting you to keep vigil, to watch and pray with us. You can sign up at the information desk or simply show up. There will be someone praying in the Chapel every hour, day and night, from the end of the Maundy Thursday worship service until Saturday morning the time from Jesus arrest in the Garden until after his death and burial. Complete details on available at saintandrews.org/volunteer. Prayer School Wednesdays, April 24-May p.m. Sanctuary Room 204 Join Pastor Straiton for a four-week Prayer School. Our goal is to increase and enhance the power and practice of prayer. Along with presenting a fresh perspective on the purpose and practice of prayer, you will also learn how to pray a Daily Prayer Liturgy created specifically for St. Andrew s. At its center, prayer is simply being present to the presence of God. There is no fee for this class; however, registration is required. Discipleship 4.0: The Hard Stuff How to Have Faithful Conversations About Issues That Divide Us Led by Pastors Mike Carlson, Sarah Breckenridge, Roland Hayes, Jim Moline: Mondays, April 29 through May 20, 7-8:15 p.m. Sanctuary Do you struggle to have controversial conversations, around issues like politics or capital punishment or abortion? Come get tools to engage in tough conversations, challenge what you believe and reengage that belief from a faithful perspective. We ll have speakers, panel and small group conversation. Dr. Jack will share innovative ways to connect with your child in young adulthood, strategies for letting go, and ideas on learning to love with backbone for successfully launching your child into this new chapter of life. 5 Please Consider Easter Adjustments Serve with hearts of hospitality this Easter by considering a couple options that will vastly improve the Easter worship experience for our guests and all of us. The 9 and 10 a.m. Easter worship services are very well attended at St. Andrew s. To improve parking and seating during worship, please consider attending one of the other Easter worship opportunities. Serve with hearts of hospitality and leave the closest spots for our guests by parking in the High School lot. We will have shuttles to pick you up and take you to Sanctuary from 9 a.m. to noon. We thank you for your consideration and generosity. 2. Valet and Drop Off If dropping off or using our valet service for people with mobility issues at the Sanctuary, use the East Avenue Entrance to the Sanctuary building. 3. Main Lot Parking We will be providing directional parking volunteers. We are grateful for their assistance. Please note in diagram how we will enter and exit the parking lot. Celebration of Life Seminar Thursday, May 9, 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Great Hall Join Pastor Kyle Jackson, Lisa Grundtner, and Bradshaw as we learn to plan memorial services, funerals and end-of-life care, including palliative and hospice care. We will be looking at many aspects of planning your own memorial service and starting the conversation about your wishes with those whom you love. Design and Planting Techniques Tuesday, April 23, 6-7 p.m. Great Hall Room 2 Do you like the containers of flowers in front of the church? If so, here is an opportunity to make your own containers. Thrive vs. Just Survive. Master Gardener, Cynthia Hammel who designs and plants the containers around our campus, will demonstrate design and planting techniques, and a lucky attendee will take the finished product home. She will also share information about using Native and Pollinator plants. Community Resource Center Need Dental Work? Are you without dental insurance and cannot afford to pay for care? Hope Dental Clinic is working in collaboration with the Community Resource Center to offer a weekly Dental Hygiene Clinic. $20 administrative fee requested. Please call for an appointment. Calling Dental Hygienists! Are you a licensed dental hygienist looking for a great volunteer opportunity? The CRC is working with Hope Dental Clinic to offer a one day a week clinic for those lacking dental insurance and unable to pay for care.
