Mid-Winter Marriage Refresher For All Couples Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019, 9 a.m. 2 p.m. Great Hall Join us at this marriage refresher event to learn more about each other, develop helpful skills to deal with conflict, and have the opportunity to create a vision for your marriage. The presenter is Karen Stevensen, a licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and an Ordained Lutheran Pastor with over 25 years of experience counseling couples and facilitating marriage workshops. Reminder- this does not include coffee! Rising Suddenly: Stay seated or rise slowly when asked to stand in worship. Blood Pressure fluctuation: Get your blood pressure checked: Follow up regularly with your primary care provider and have BP and medications monitored. Nutrition: Eat breakfast before coming to church. Eating a regular meal prior to attending worship will help prevent low blood sugar issues and gives you energy for the days activities. Children and adults can take part in yoga, singing and dancing, running, and eating healthy snacks. Special activities will begin at 10:00 a.m. following the open gym time. CYF Summer Internship Program St. Andrew s is hiring four interns to assist in leading summer children s and youth ministry programs, including camps, retreats, VBS, mission trips, small group gatherings, Bible studies, and more. Substance Use: Family Impact and What Parents / Loved Ones Can Do Tuesday, Feb. 5, 7-8:30 p.m. Sanctuary Room 204 Parents and grandparents are understandably concerned about use of harmful substances (including alcohol and drugs) by young people they care about. Learn how to watch for signs and symptoms, as well as connect youth to professional resources. International Opportunities Holy Land Tour 2019 Preparations are being made for another St. Andrew s Holy Land Pilgrimage Nov. 9-21, The trip will be hosted by Pastor Mike Carlson. 6 Spiritual Care for Caregivers New Group Meets Monthly Starting Feb. 19 A community of support for caregivers is starting again. Join us on the third Tuesday of every month (2/19, 3/19, 4/16, & 5/21) 1-2 p.m. in Sanctuary Room 201. We will provide monthly devotions, and a warm, welcoming space to share the joys and pains of caregiving.
