2 Mark 9:2-13 Today s Gospel talks about the transfiguration of Jesus- the dazzling white clothes, and the reminder This is my Beloved; listen to him! We are reminded to listen to God. We are reminded of our calling to shine the Light of Christ into the world so all will know they are beloved. At St. Andrew s, we listen to God s call to help those in need. The naked are clothed, the homeless are housed and the hungry are fed. We are also transformed through the opportunity to serve and love our neighbor. We are transformed and we are helped to see the way of God in the world. We are reminded that we are all beloved children of God. The Hope Lives campaign includes an expansion of our Community Resource Center to include much needed space for intake, wellness and counseling for members and families in our community. We are becoming the hope God wants for our world to see and the Community Resource Center is our front porch. We heed God s call and put faith into action, said Jana Hogenson (pictured right), CRC Case Manager. By serving others, we too are transformed in the image of Christ. We will focus on texts from the New Testament, including the Gospels, Epistles, and the book of Revelation. Falls Prevention Workshop Thursdays, Feb. 22-April 12, 1:30-3:30 p.m. Sanctuary Room 204 Are you 60 or older, have had a fall in the past year or are fearful of falling? Stepping On will meet for two hours weekly for seven sessions to equip you with the skills and knowledge you will need to prevent falls. It will be led by two local Faith Community Nurses. In addition local guest experts will provide information on exercise, vision, safety, and medications as they relate to falls. Summer Camp Leader Training Sunday, Feb. 11 and March 4 1:30-3 p.m. in Pier 7 High School and adults; Cost: $175 Be a part of the leadership team for Confirmation Camp. Marriage in the Middle is facilitated by Jeff and Mary Sanders, who speak regularly in academic, church and community settings on topics related to relationships. They have been facilitating marriage retreats since They have a passion to engage couples in the places they find themselves. They don t believe in a one-size-fitsall approach to marriage. The Sanders view Marriage in the Middle as a way to describe how couples live out their marriages. This includes our life stage, and can include growing children, aging parents and societal and work challenges and changes. Mary is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, based in the Twin Cities. She received her MA in Marriage and Family Therapy from Bethel Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she now teaches in the Marriage and Family Therapy Program and at the Graduate School.. Jeff serves at Bethel University as the Associate Dean of Formation and Professional Development.
