(Closed for lunch 12:30 1:00 p.m.) Saturday: 1:00 3:45 p.m. Saturday Vigil: 4:00 p.m. Sunday: 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Children s Liturgy of the Word: 11 a.m. Monday: see worship calendar for time & location Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 8:30 a.m. Saturday: 3:00 to 3:30 p.m. Other times by appointment Blessed Trinity Parish is an open and welcoming Catholic community, centered in the Eucharist and celebrating God's gift of Diversity. We bring God's love to one another and support one another in responding to the challenge of living the Gospel. We strive to deepen participation and encourage all parishioners to take ownership for the everyday life of their church, especially Spiritual Growth, Community Life, the Building of a Just Society, and Service to All God's People. Text: Psalm 66:1-3 12, 16; Music: Marty Haugen; 1982, 1994, GIA Publications, Inc. Reprinted under onelicense.net A
2 Thank you to Adopt-a-Spotters Our grounds have never looked more beautiful and more than a handful of disciples have made that happen. Joan Francis continues to beautify the triangle by the entrance to the church. The lilies are in full bloom, offsetting the boxwood and the geraniums. Joan also planted flowers along the west side of the church. Not a weed can be found it is so well manicured. The same can be said for the east side of the church. Susan Ward has done a spectacular job planting a variety of colorful flowers there. She has also mulched the entire space. I caught her there Saturday morning, having just returned from her cruise, pulling any stray weeds that dared to sprout while she was gone. Jim Ruppe has spent several hours in the edible forest clearing away grass and weeds that have grown around some of the trees. If you d ever like to join him, especially if you have a memorial tree, feel free to contact him. I am sure he would appreciate the help. Lee and Jean Arquero have done a magnificent job designing the outdoor mosaic shrine area. It is filled with colorful flowers. The spotlight has been covered by boxwood and roses and daffodils and lilies and geraniums. It is a beautiful spot. Tom and Carolyn Simmonds continue to work tirelessly in the community garden. But throughout the year they have grown plants from seeds and leave sprouts. Those plants can bee seen in the triangle area where we have the primeval fire for the Easter vigil. They have enlisted the help of David Velcio and his children, David, Jr. and Jordan, Sr. Judy Miller, Tim Dettmer, Walt Zacharias, Sue Ward and others. The other day Tom and I were talking about the future. We are both getting older and our backs are feeling it. Same for Carolyn. While they are able, they are still going strong, but if someone wants to come and help now and learn, they are more than open to share their vast knowledge of gardening with them. There are some spots that still do not have benefactors. One area is the east side of Birchwood School. Although the area has beautiful hostas and is mulched, weeds need to be pulled from time to time. If you are walking by there and see a weed, feel free to extricate it from its habitat. Or you can pull it out. While I am on the topic of nature, let me thank all those who take the time to recycle paper and cardboard here at the parish as well as those who recycle at home with glass and plastic and cans and aluminum. Pope Francis Encyclical Laudato Si calls each of us to do our part to make our common home a livable habitat. Recycling is a major way we can do that. It does not seem like much, but the statistics that we put in the bulletin show what a difference even a small amount of care does. In addition, saving water is important. Do not let the tap run unnecessarily. Water is our most essential commodity. The Great Lakes region contains 20% of the world s fresh water. Use it wisely. Keep up the good work. PSR REGISTRATION If your elementary age child attends a non-catholic school, s/he should be enrolled in a program for religious education. Blessed Trinity offers PSR.
