As we enter our 75th year, our Parish is set to shine, The memories we share are, now as then, as sweet as mulberry wine. We all can recall a time or event that was special to us when We met someone who shared that happening and recalls it fondly again. What helps the past come alive is one thing that surely stands out, That s a photo from that past that allows emotions to sprout. To place a person, event or thing and do it with a snapshot Is to capture and preserve that special time as well endeared thought. By signing up to take your picture, it isn t a burden to bear, You will be showing others how much you really care. The experience will make you feel so good you ll be glad you took the time, And when the directory comes out for all to see the feeling will be divine. Visiting priests would assist Father Brand celebrating these additional liturgies until the first permanent assistant pastor for St. Peter s was assigned in It was at that point that daily Mass could now be scheduled as well. 3 Thirty-first Sunday in Ordinary Time Faith Formation for Families, Youth, Children & Adults Especially for St. Peter s Parishioners... Blessed Trinity Catholic School News November 28, 4 pm or 6:30 pm for our Next G of F Session The prayer theme continues with Preparing for Christmas with prayer. We will gather in the social hall and pray in the church. We will be looking to the how s and whys of Advent prayers, especially the Advent Wreath and Posada. All ages 5 to 105 are invited to come and see. All are invited. Sacramental families are expected. Registration opens next weekend in the narthex and online. The inaugural Generations of Faith was a wonderful success. Almost 80 people attended the two sessions at 4 pm and 6:30 pm. Besides meeting and building bonds of friendship with other parishioners, attendees looked into what the Bible actually says about prayer. A highlight of the night was Fr. Jerry answering questions about prayer and his prayer life. Fr. Jerry shared how he remains a disciple of prayer while being Pastor of St. Peters. Fr. was asked the following: Why should we pray? We were created for God, to share His life, therefore, we were created for prayer. To pray is to fill the deepest need of our souls. Bible Study on St. Peter Going Great! Prayer Shawls Ministry The ministry meets on the second Monday of each month at 10:00 am and again at 6:30 pm in Room E. The next meeting will be Monday, November 12. Knights of Columbus Our Lady Help of Persecuted Christians Icon The Marian Prayer Program presents the 18th Marian image sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, this time Our Lady Help of Persecuted Christians. Since 1979, the images have been viewed at over 170,000 council and church prayer services with over 20 million participants. In 2014, the Knights created the Christian Refugee Relief Fund and raised and distributed more than 20 million dollars to help those that have been persecuted in the Middle East by Isis. Each Knights of Columbus jurisdiction receives the opportunity to display the Icon as centerpieces for these prayer devotions in churches for a limited time period. The Icon will be displayed at St. Peter's from Tuesday, November 6th through Monday, November 19th. It will be displayed in the Sanctuary and there will be prayer cards for you to pick up. Respect Life Speaker The next meeting of the Knights of Columbus will be Monday, November 5th. The Respect Life speaker will be Jessica Tupy, Community and Outreach Manager for Pregnancy Choices located in Apple Valley. Jessica will speak about their unique Fatherhood program. Come and hear how this is really working. All K of C meetings are in the Madonna Room and start with the Rosary at 7:00 pm with the program to follow. The KC Hall is located at 1114 American Blvd. W., Bloomington. Ladies Auxiliary Spaghetti Dinner The Bloomington Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary will be hosting their annual Spaghetti Dinner from 5 to 7 pm on Tuesday, November 6th, at the Bloomington Event Center, 1114 American Blvd. All are welcome. The menu will include: spaghetti with meat sauce, salad, garlic bread, coffee and dessert. The cost is $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for children ages 6 to 11 and free for 5 years and under.
