This past January team members personally delivered 3,000 solar lights to the children of Haiti. As soon as the sun goes down, the children have no safe means of studying or doing their homework. The solar lights provide a safe, clean alternative way to bring them light. Hand to Hand plans to deliver 5,000 solar lights to remote areas of the island in January, 2019, as well as 3,000 school bags with basic school supplies. Members of the team are all volunteers and pay for their own travel and lodging expenses. This assures that 100% of all donations are used for the children of Haiti. The donation to sponsor a light is $10/ light. Thank you for your help and support. (a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization)

3 S 23, 2018 Next weekend, September 2930, representatives from Hands for Haiti will be joining us to provide information on their important work and solicit donations to support their efforts to assist the poor in that economically challenged country. With 80% of its residents living in poverty, Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Hands for Haiti seeks to break the cycle of poverty by providing education, nutrition and basic health care in a faith based environment. In the past, St. Joseph s has been most generous in helping these ministries of care and compassion. Please step forward once again! God bless, Father Perreault 28th Annual Cape May County Life Chain On October 7, from 2:003:00, at the intersection of Route 47 and 9,will once again be the location for this year s Life Chain. Life Chain signs will be distributed at the KMart parking lot along Route 9. Police approval has been secured. Senior citizens can bring chairs. The Life Chain is not a fundraiser, but we will once again have a donation bucket to support our local Hope Pregnancy Centers in Fishing Creek and Ocean City. 6 S 23, 2018 COLOR SPLASH RUN OCTOBER 13TH Bishop McHugh School is hosting a Color Splash FUNDrun on Saturday October 13 at 9 a.m., and it s open to the community. Proceeds will benefit the students and fund programs at the school. The cost is $20 per runner and includes a teeshirt, color packet and race bib. Registration is due by Friday, September 28th. Runners can sign up the day of the event for $25 each but will not receive the tshirt, color packet or race bib. Donations are being accepted.
