1 Pastor's Letter October 2014 October is an exciting month for Bible Baptist Church as we celebrate our foreign missions outreach. October 4 th and 5 th is designated for us as World Missions Weekend, and we will be hosting several events to welcome our newest missionary families. On Saturday, October 4 th, we will have men s prayer breakfast at 8:00 AM, and will be introduced to each of the three missionary candidates. At 10:30 that morning, there will be a ladies brunch, at which each of the missionary wives will give their testimony about where God is leading their family to serve Him. On Sunday, October 5 th, these missionaries will be speaking in some of our Sunday School classes, and we will hear more from them in the morning and evening services. Our special guest speaker for the day is Pastor Mark Hodges, from Winter Haven Baptist Church in Winter Haven, Florida. Pastor Hodges is a long-time pastor, who has traveled extensively throughout the world supporting and encouraging missionaries in many countries. He also has served as the president of the Baptist Bible Fellowship International, and several offices in the Florida state fellowship. Several of our veteran missionaries will also be stopping by during the month of October to give reports on their work: Erwin Santoso (New Zealand), October 5 th ; Jason Kenney and family (Chile), October 12 th ; Jerry Collins and family (Mexico), October 19 th ; and Brad Henderson and family (Tanzania), on October 26 th. Missionary Barry Williams (Scotland) will be here November 16 th. It is our desire through missions month for each of our families to strengthen their burden for lost people across the street, and around the world. I hope that your family regularly contributes to our missions outreach ministry. If you already are giving to missions, use this month and these missionary guests to increase your support. If you do not regularly give to the mission work of Bible Baptist Church, then prayerfully consider how the Lord would use your family to help get the gospel to these needy lands. Little is much, when God is in it! You may think that $10 or $20 per week isn t very much to reach the world, but when every family participates, the combined effort is tremendous. In our nearly 20 year history, Bible Baptist has given over $2.5 million dollars to missions! It was only accomplished by our families working together for the cause of the gospel. It has been two years since we put our emphasis on world missions, (we focused on church planting in America last year), and I m looking forward to what the Lord is going to do in our congregation throughout this month. This month also includes a Homebuilder s Class fellowship, two Great Commission nights, a ladies fellowship night, teen events, kids outings, and much more. As we go into the final quarter of 2014 we are getting ready for some of the biggest events on our yearly calendar. Let s pray that the Lord will continue His hand of blessing on our church, on our families, and on all these ministry efforts. See you in church!

2 World Missions Weekend Anniversary Directory We will be working with Lifetouch to create our 20th Anniversary Directory. We want every person that calls BBC their home to be a part of this publication. You will receive a free 8x10 or 9 wallets and a free directory for having your photo included. Schedule your family s portraits online by going to and clicking on the Anniversary Directory tab! A table will also be set up in the tower lobby on September 28th, October 5th, and October 12th for families to schedule their photography sessions.
