1 Pastor's Letter June 2014 On May 25 th, the congregation of Harvest Baptist Church in Delhi Township voted unanimously to accept our Joint Venture Agreement. They now are officially part of the BBC family, and we are excited about the many opportunities this partnership affords them. Under the umbrella of our ministry, they will be considered a second campus of our church for the next two years. During that time, Michael Ogg will serve as the campus pastor there, under my authority and oversight. He will be preaching and teaching, visiting the members, canvassing the neighborhoods around the church, and functioning as the on-site pastor. We will be assisting them with different ministries, including music, children and youth events, and door-to-door visitation. It is a missions trip opportunity for you that is close to home. You are welcome to spend a Sunday morning, evening, or Thursday night service there, to see the excitement and the great potential that exists. Adopting a church is a first for our congregation, but it may serve as another option for our home missions efforts, and as a model for the Ohio BBF churches. Pray for Mike, Michelle, and their girls as this new ministry takes off. After a great Spring season at BBC, we are moving full-speed ahead into the summer months. These next ten to twelve weeks are filled with events for our children and families, beginning with our Wednesday night program BBC Sports & Skills Zone. In addition to some sports activities for kids age 4 through 6 th grade, we are including some skills classes for cooking and girl s sewing. These elective classes are free, and include a devotion / Bible study each week. This program begins Wednesday, June 4 th, at 6:30 PM. Please make sure your students are registered soon. They will learn a lot, and have a great time doing it! Also this month is our first of three summer camps. Senior High camp will take place June 23 rd 27 th, and is for students in 9 th -12 th grades, including those who just graduated. Ben and Grace Miller have all the information you need, and some sponsorships may be available for this camp. Speaking of graduates, we had one of the largest senior classes in recent years, and we congratulate all of these young people on their accomplishments. I look forward to hearing great things about the class of 2014! Our new Children s Pastor, Aaron Faucett, begins serving part-time this month, and will begin full-time ministry in September. We are excited to have Pastor Kelly D. McInerney the Faucett family returning to BBC, after serving at the Xenia church in many capacities of lay leadership. They will be a tremendous asset to our staff and congregation, and are eager to get started in ministry. After completing our two year internship program, Michael Finley has accepted a position as youth pastor at the Timberhill Baptist Church in Hamilton, Ohio. For a long time, Michael has felt the call to work with youth, and this ministry gives him and Rachel a great opportunity to follow the Lord s direction for their family. While we will miss them here at BBC, we are thankful the Lord opened this door for them to fulfill His calling. They won t be too far away, and I know they will stop in to see us whenever possible. It is wonderful that our church is being used of God not only to start churches, but to train men for ministry as assistant pastors, children s pastors, and youth pastors, and to see them step out to follow the Lord s will. Michael joins men like Will Dhume, Ben Myers, Ken Gosney, and Josh Doebler, who all served at BBC before the Lord took them to different ministries. Thank the Lord that He is using BBC to train laborers for His harvest! It is a joy and a privilege for our church to be used in this way, and we pray the Lord keeps using our ministry for this purpose. It s going to be a great summer at Bible Baptist Church! See you in church!
