The Maasai Mara Shelter will be our base camp from 12:30-2:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, We will have lunch there from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. A zookeeper will bring some friends to join us while we enjoy our lunch. Explore the new AFRICA exhibit, see the cheetah runs, bird shows, and giraffe feedings in their new exhibit! 4 Another Degree Event Added for Candidates! A total of five degrees A banquet A museum trip for the ladies Live entertainment The Valley of Cincinnati is responding quickly to an increasing demand for degree presentations by offering yet another opportunity for Master Masons to become Scottish Rite Masons! Those who wish to continue to enhance their Masonic experience are encouraged to spend the morning at the Cincinnati Masonic Center on Saturday, May 10 for the 4º, 6º, and 24º and then return the following Saturday, May 17, for the 14º and 32º. The special degree events are open to new petitioners, new initiates from the Spring 2014 Class, and all Scottish Rite Masons in good standing. We will offer the 4, 6, and 24 by utilizing the official videos authorized by the Supreme Council. After viewing these three degrees, candidates will then be eligible for the 14 and 32, being exemplified live as part of a special day for candidates, members, and their spouses or significant others. Petitions will be accepted until 10:00 a.m. on May 10. For your convenience, a petition is included in this issue of The Rite Recorder, says Fraternal Secretary Michael A. Himes, 33º. On May 17, candidates will be chosen Grand Elect Masons and presented their 14º rings. After the 14º, they will witness the 32º and be proclaimed Sublime Princes of the Royal Secret. The day will conclude with a 32º banquet in the ballroom and, after dinner, live entertainment in the Scottish Rite Auditorium from the Van-Dells. The banquet and concert are included for candidates. An order form for members is available in this edition of The Rite Recorder, or you can avoid missing the May 9 deadline for orders by purchasing your tickets online at 32masons.com. Wives and significant others are invited to take a group excursion on May 17 to the Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal for the award-winning exhibition, Diana, A Celebration, which chronicles the life of the late Diana, Princess of Wales. According to the Cincinnati Museum Center, the exhibition presents the life and humanitarian work of Princess Diana through nine galleries containing 150 objects. The ladies will join us for the banquet after the degree conferrals are complete. The bus to the museum leaves the Cincinnati Masonic Center at 1:00 p.m. Candidates spouses or significant others are our guests for the banquet and museum trip. Doors open at 9:00 a.m. on May 10; degrees start at 10:00 a.m. Doors open at noon on May 17; degrees start at 1:00 p.m. Tickets are will-call only for all May 17 events!
