1 The Council/er The Ohio District Council of Pentecostal Churches, Inc. The Ohio District Council of Pentecostal Churches, Inc. Affiliated with The Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. Affiliated with The Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. From the Desk of the ODC Chairman I greet you in the matchless name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and to our Honorable Diocesan, Bishop James W. Gaiters, Board of Directors, Suffragan Bishops, District Elders, Pastors, and to the entire constituency of the great OHIO DISTRICT COUNCIL. O clap your hands all ye people, shout unto God with the voice of triumph. (Psalms 47:1) The psalmist gives in that psalm a song of praise to our God as the King of the whole earth, and he uses the most natural and most enthusiastic tokens of exultation to be used in view of the victories of our God s universal reign. Our joy in our God may be, and should be demonstrative, and the God of our salvation will not censure our praise when we give it to Him. So let us continue to give our God praise for all He has done and will continue to do in the midst of our great council. Let us continue to work fervidly in Christ to win souls into the Kingdom of God. As I look back and reminisce on all the great victories that we have won, this is the Lord's doing; it is marvelous in our eyes (Psalms 118:23). I would also like to thank each and every member of this great council for your vote of confidence to allow me to serve you again as chairman of such a great and august body of believers. I would like to resonate to all of you, the words of the Apostle John in his third letter to the Church: Beloved I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. (3 John 2) May our God continue to pour out His richest blessings on all of us in Christ Jesus as we serve Him. Yours under the Sovereignty of God, Bishop Melvin L. Brown ODC Council Chairman
2 Bishop James W. Gaiters, Sr., Diocesan October, earnestly contend for the faith, which was once delivered unto the saints. (Jude 3) Greetings in the precious name of Jesus to all of my brothers and sisters of this Ohio District Council who contend for the faith that was once delivered to the saints! The 103 rd Convention of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World has come to an end, and we thank the Honorable Bishop Charles H. Ellis, III for his huge service to the P.A.W. He has led us for a historic two four-year terms as Presider, and we pause in repose to thank God for both Bishop Ellis and his lovely wife, Crisette, for their service of love to the body of Christ. He leaves the organization growing numerically, financially strong, and blessed spiritually. We are now thanking God for the newly elected leadership, the Honorable Bishop Theodore Brooks, who will serve the P.A.W. as its 11 th Presider. He will be assisted by 1 st and 2 nd Assistant Presiders, Bishop Mark Tolbert, and Bishop Michael David Hannah, respectively. May we all join together in prayerful support of this new team that will take the P.A.W. even higher. We also give thanks for newly-elected General Secretary, Sf. Bishop Craig High, and Assistant General Secretary, Sf. Bishop Ann Storey-Pratt. They, along with all of those from the O.D.C. who have been elected or appointed to work at the national level, will be a blessing to the organization. Congratulations to all of you. We will be better because of your new positions. Now, briefly, I want to remind you that next year, August 10-17, 2019, the ODC will host the P.A.W. convention in Cincinnati, Ohio. We ve done it before, and with God s help, we can do it again. Before I close, let us remember our theme, for it s our bread and butter. After a long summer and with all of its special events, let us be about our Father s business and continue to Harvest Souls for the Kingdom. By His Grace, OHIO SHALL GO ONWARD FOR CHRIST Bishop James W. Gaiters, Sr. Diocesan Bishop Melvin Brown, Chairman Sister Rosalind Agnew, Secretary Pastor Beverly Simmons, Treasurer District Elder Darrell Cummings, Vice Chairman Evangelist Janet Cummings, Asst. Secretary Elder Harold Ray, Asst. Treasurer Sister Joyce Tate, Recording Secretary Elder Timothy Hawkins, Sergeant-At-Arms ohiodistrcouncil.org
