2 Doctrinal Statement Sermon Notes WE BELIEVE that the Bible is the inspired, infallible (unalterable) Word of God written by holy men of old, as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. WE BELIEVE in one God who is infinite in power, holy in nature, attributes and purposes, as well as omniscient and omnipresent. We believe that he was revealed to us as Father in creation, as Son in redemption, and as Holy Spirit in His comforting grace that never leaves those who trust Him. WE BELIEVE that in Jesus dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, for it pleased the Father that in Him should all the fullness dwell. WE BELIEVE in the Virgin Birth; Jesus was both human and divine; He was God manifested in the flesh. WE BELIEVE in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. We believe that He ascended on high and has sent His spirit, that Holy Ghost, which was poured out at Jerusalem over 1900 years ago, and it is this same Spirit that is filling the hearts of those who diligently seek HIM today. WE BELIEVE in baptism in water by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and in the baptism of the Holy Ghost, speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. This constitutes the new birth. WE BELIEVE in a holy, sanctified life. We believe in divine healing, communion and foot washing. We believe also in the glorious catching away (the Rapture) of the saints when Jesus returns in the clouds in glory to take His people to Heaven. OUR CHIEF AIM is to glorify our Savior, who is Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. 3 Jacob s Ladder Mission Statement Order of Service Call to Worship Sacrifice Obedience Commitment Church Purpose: I would like everyone at Jacob s Ladder to k now that we are here in the State of California to promote the Kingdom of God and to recruit souls of men and women of all walks of life into this glorious Kingdom. With this truth established, our primary objective is saving the lost souls, the preservation of the saved soul, and the consecration of the new man in Christ. Our tools to reach our objectives are basically as follows: Repentance from a sinful Life; Water baptism in the name of Jesus The baptism of the Holy Ghost; Educating the lost with the Word; and Referral resources for those that have special needs. With this in mind, I would like for you all to know that I have sought the Lord for approval to expand the operation here at Jacob s Ladder. As your Pastor, it is my desire to acquire a church edifice with a seating capacity suitable for our membership. This will require for us to take this present vision and organize it into a three million dollar project. In closing, I invite any ideas or suggestions to make the vision a reality. 6 Page 6 Announcements Let s lock up in prayer and load up in the Spirit! Join Dr. Robert Douglas, Sr. and the family of Jacob s Ladder in prayer and Bible Study every Wednesday. Noonday Lock & Load service begins with prayer from 12 noon to 12:30 pm and Bible Study from 12:30 pm to 1 pm. Evening Lock & Load service begins with prayer from 7 pm to 7:30 pm and Bible Study from 7:30 pm to 9 pm. All Lock & Load services are held in the main sanctuary. To all Members of Jacob s Ladder: it is not too late to submit your 2012 Personal Steward Assessment and schedule your personal consultation with the Pastor. You can obtain the Personal Stewardship Assessment form from any usher. Attention ALL Youth at Jacob s Ladder: Friday Night Youth Fellowship is held every 3rd Friday. The next Friday Night Youth Fellowship will be held on September 28, at 7 pm. Plan to come out and bring a friend with you. C.U.R.E. (Cleanup, Restore & Empower) Special Announcement for all women of Jacob s Ladder! The next Women s Ministry Meeting is Sunday, September 23rd at 5 pm in the main sanctuary. Their primarily focus will be, empowering and enhancing the stewardship abilities of the women of Jacob s Ladder. The Prayer Chain will continue during the month of September. The classes are held every Wednesday evening from 6 pm to 7:30 pm. For more information and to sign-up for the class, contact Dr. Rachelle Guillory. Singles Ministry News - The Single s Ministry meets every 3rd Sunday immediately after the Sunday morning service. All Singles are urged to attend this meeting. For more information, contact either Elder Robert Goodwin or Sister Rosalind Thornton. The C.U.R.E. continues with the Men s Ministry Cleanup, Restore & Empower. The men of Jacob s Ladder will also focus on empowering and enhancing their stewardship abilities. In preparation for the Men s Ministry Conference, Pastor Douglas is requesting for all the men of Jacob s Ladder to go on a concentration.
