The York Rite Convention and the Executive Board meeting in our past, all Commanderies should be marching full steam ahead. The specific goals for the year have been outlined. Calendars including all objectives having been distributed, Tarheel Grand Commandery is now postured to make an indelible mark upon the Jurisdiction of North Carolina. United under a single purpose of thought with the Most Excellent Grand Chapter of Holy Royal Arch Masons and Prince Hall Grand Council of Royal and Select Masters, York Rite Masonry is expected to return to its days of glory. As we anchor our hopes and dreams on the 4 C s of Prosperity, I have no doubt our endeavors will be successful. This is not a new catch phrase or buzz word, but rather a way of life. The membership of this Jurisdiction has entrusted me with the leadership responsibilities of this order. To this task, I am fully invested and accountable. By now, all Commanderies should be in possession of blueprint. In order for us to be successful, ALL MEMBERS must be FULLY VESTED in the implementation of the plan and accomplish of their assignments. As a military driven organization, one portion of the TEAM is dependent on the other to complete its particular role in order for the entire mission to be successful. It is my desire each member of this order will attempt to accomplish your portion of the mission. A plan is not worth the paper it s printed on without the commitment of the people. In closing, I humbly request all to review the plan and see how you fit into it. Grand Officers and Eminent Commanders, I expect you to lead the Charge of Prosperity. The guardian It is an honor and a privilege to serve this Jurisdiction as the Very Eminent Deputy Grand Commander and I will do my best to support the Right Eminent Grand Commander in every way. We are a team Sir Knight Floyd Duhon, KYCH Very Eminent Deputy Grand Commander Tarheel Grand Commandery and will work as such. In my support of the REGC, I have been named Chairman of the Tarheel Grand Commandery Bylaws Committee and also the Aaron Lightner Academic Award Committee. The Tarheel Grand Commandery Bylaws Committee will be reviewing the current bylaws and recommending any changes or corrections that we may see fit. We will be especially looking into the current approved uniforms and their wear. We are looking forward to having these ready to be presented at next year s Grand Conclave. The Aaron Lightner Academic Award Committee will do everything in our power to ensure that each Commandery is given the same opportunity to afford this Award to every Eligible Senior in their area. We will send it out to each of the Recorders in a timely manner, so that they can get them distributed to the various Guidance Counselors, Churches, and other organizations, in their area. I am looking forward to a very successful year for Chivalric Masonry, and I hope that you are as well.

As the Eminent Grand Generalissimo of the Tarheel Grand Commandery Jurisdiction of North Carolina Inc. I have been task with the responsibility of the Elite Honor Guard Team. Our duties are to escort the Most Worshipful Grand Master at the various events throughout the Jurisdiction Sir Knights we are looking for members to serve as a part of this team. On 22 March 2014, during the Tarheel Grand Commandery Executive Board meeting; it was proposed and approved that we institute a King Contest within the Tarheel Grand Commandery and that the contest be named in honor of Right Eminent Grand Commander Arnold Davis. At our 2015 Grand Conclave District Deputy Grand Commander Region 2 Sir Knight James O. Wright of James L. French Commandery # 16, Lumberton NC was crowned as the first winner of the Tarheel Grand Commandery Arnold Davis King Contest. Sir Knight James Omar Wright, KYCH 2015 Arnold Davis King Contest Winner Sir Knight Wright and the members of James L. French Commandery # 16 have said they plan to keep the crown in Lumberton and challenge all Commanderies across the jurisdiction to take part in this year s contest. 9 Knights of Ecclesiastes Commandery #22, hosted Ascension Day this year at Marshal Chapel Missionary Baptist, in Jacksonville N.C. In the spirit of fraternal cooperation and unity several Commanderies and concordant bodies were represented at this visitation including: Region 2 District Deputy Grand Commander James O. Wright, Region 2 Lecturer P.E.C. James Reed, members of James L French Commandery #16 of Lumberton NC, and King Solomon Commandery # 14 of Washington NC. Representative of the following bodies were also present, Marion Walker Council #9 RSM, St. James Chapter #77, HRAM and Ecclesiastes Lodge #818. From The Editor s Desk., Greetings Sir Knights, Right Eminent Grand Commander Cooper has assigned me the task of developing our quarterly newsletter THE GUARDIAN. I have to begin by saying this is our newletter to highlight the activities of the Tarheel Grand Commandery and I need your support. Please send me your pictures and a brief write up of the activities taking place in your Commanderies and community at large. Our Right Eminent Grand Commander has provided us with a full trestle board and the opportunity to be of great service to our different communities. This newsletter will provide a great way to share what we are doing across the jurisdiction. All articles submitted should be done in WORD and do not forget to answer the following 5 questions in every article: WHO?, WHAT?, WHEN?, WHERE?, and WHY?. Please feel free to include any digital photos you may with every article. We will use as many of the photos as possible. Those of you who may have lecturers, or research information, please do not hesitate to submit your information for consideration however the decision to use them will be made on a case by case basis. Lastly, this is a quarterly newsletter, however you do not have to wait to submit your articles. Please send them in as early as possible after the event has taken place.
