Dec 15, Club Christmas Party 6:00PM Hillcrest Once again, our Lincoln East Rotary Club enjoyed a fine Christmas Celebration party at the Hillcrest Country Club with forty five people and three musical people in attendance. There were twenty six Rotarians including two new members, Gene Frederick and Dennis Duckworth. The three man band, Star Music lead by Jon Hischke were excellent from the beginning to the end which was about 45 minutes too early due to the report of freezing rain. Our meals were excellent and the dessert was awesome. We were saved from speeches due to the wisdom of our President Cliff. Santa arrived right on schedule, but as you can note, he seemed to be very partial to Good Old Saint Nick Johnson our group.our Club Secretary, Jerry Christensen provided the prayer. The Hillcrest Club staff was extremely efficent Cliff & Susan Anne Stockmyer in serving all of the tables. The choice of salmon or prime rib were cooked to perfection. Everyone present was formally introduced and rec- ognized. Everyone was very social and milled from table to table for enjoyable fellow- ship. Some members were in concentrated conversations about our club and events that John Carlini Steve Hanson Jon Hischke impact all of us. The meal was accompained with fine conversations. As time passed, the mood shifted to listening to music and dancing. Some members were interested in some very lively music, but most of the group wanted to just cuddle on the dance floor. Your editor was in the second group. Santa made his appearence right on time and made his rounds providing gifts from his sack for everyone present. There was no segregation of the obvious good members and the bad ones in his choices. So much for parental guidance. Santa enjoyed his time and did spend more time with the ladies then he spent with the gentlemen. All reports were that this was a very fine Christmas Party and it is understood that everything for next year has already been reserved. Merry Christmas.
