2 This Week s Happenings Infant Baptisms: The next scheduled date for infant baptisms is Sunday, May 13. All parents interested in having their baby baptized that day during the Worship Service may contact the church office, by Sunday, April 8 at or office@lakecitycrc.org. 4 One Quartet: You re invited to join us for a free concert by the 4 One Quartet on Sunday, April 8, 7pm in the church auditorium. This will be an evening of great worship and encouragement through southern gospel music. Bring your family out and invite your friends to enjoy the evening together! Mississippi Trip Debrief: Sunday, April 8th, 4:30pm there will be a Mississippi Mission Trip Reunion for all those who attended the 2018 Mississippi Mission. This is a chance to debrief all that happen over the week of outreach. There will be a meal following it at 5:30pm. Starting Point Class: On the Sundays of April 15 & 22, 4pm-6pm, a class will be held for all who are interested in becoming a church member, making a profession of faith, or just wanting more information about LCCRC. To register, contact the church office at or office@lakecitycrc.org. Shepherding a Child s Heart Conference: Parents, mark your calendars for May 18-19! Dr. Tedd Tripp will be presenting a parenting conference at the Lake City CRC. Shepherding a Child s Heart is about how to speak to the heart of your child. Designed for parents with children of any age, this conference provides perspectives and procedures for shepherding your child s heart into the paths of life. SpringHill Volunteers: During the week of July 23-27, volunteers are needed to make our SpringHill Day Camp a success. We need Host Homes which house 2-5 SpringHill staff during the week of camp. Lunch Prep volunteers help each day of camp preparing food for SpringHill Satff at 11:30am. Tuesday and Thursday Night Gathering Hosts are needed to host the staff for worship, dinner and fun; staff arrive at 6:00pm and leave around 9:00pm. Registration volunteers are needed Monday morning from 8:00am to 9:30am. Activity Assistants are needed 1 or 2 days during the week when they are available to help with different activities. Counselors in Training are teens ages that assist SpringHill Staff by working with the same group of campers the entire week. For more information contact Carley Piotrowski at or carley@lakecitycrc.org Community Announcements Benefit Dinner: A Spaghetti Dinner Benefit and Auction for Wayne VanDuinen (Chuck VanDuinen s brother) will be held on Saturday, April 7, 4pm-8pm (auction begins at 6pm) at The Barn Hall in Manton. All money raised will go to help the family with medical bills and expenses. See the bulletin board flyer for more info. Young Life Club Interest Meeting: Young Life Camp will be hosting an Interest Meeting for adults who would have an interest in developing a Young Life Club for students in Lake City. The meeting will take place at Timberwolf Camp on Monday, April 9, 7pm. Contact David Peterson for more info at Secret Church 18 Simulcast: For the good of our souls and for the sake of the church s mission, followers of Christ need to ask, What false gospels are being taught today? and How can I recognize the true gospel among so many counterfeits? Answering these questions will be the aim of Secret Church 18: Cults and Counterfeit Gospels. Prosper CRC will be hosting this simulcast on Friday, April 20, 7pm-12:30am. Cost is $10/person. The evening will kick off with games and mixers in the McBain high school gym. Then Justin Sluiter and his band Jump will lead worship in the Elenbaas Auditorium; following this Eric Freeman will give a message from Luke 17 on finding our worth in Jesus love and grace for us. Friends Ministry Helping Hands is looking for home repair projects for this summer. Past projects have included: roofing, painting, yard work, wheel chair ramps, window washing, etc., to home owners in Missaukee County who don t have the resources to get the work done. Work teams will be arriving in June and July with people, tools, skills, and some amount of funding for the projects. When we get a referral we will go that home and check it out. Then we will try to get the project adopted by a visiting Helping Hands Church. We cannot adopt all the projects that we look at, but typically do projects each summer.
