5 Wine & Watercolor - June 13th Join us for Wine & Watercolor on Wednesday, June 13 at 6:30pm. Our instructor for Watercolor Made Simple is Stacey Small Rupp, member of Atonement. Stacey has a BFA degree from Stout, 25 years experience & teaches watercolor classes at NWTC. Invite friends & family to join us for painting, wine & appetizers for a donation of $ Donations for the event will be used to support Atonement Youth attending summer camp. There is a signup sheet on the Narthex Counter. My real name is Mike Gegare. I am a Green Bay native and have been performing magic since I was a kid. I have been delivering professional quality magic to audiences of all kinds since the 1990's. My "sleeve's up" approach will leave you baffled and have you talking about the performance for days. All are welcome. This month, the group is meeting on Wednesday, May 16 at 1:00pm. Blood Pressure Screening on Sunday, May 6 th. There will be a blood pressure screening before & after service on Sunday, May 6 th. This will be held in the Prayer Chapel.

6 From the Social Concerns Committee: Care & Share Ministry Did you know..our Care & Share Ministry helps those recovering from an illness or surgery by preparing meals or providing household help. If you have a need for a meal or household help while recovering, please call the church office or contact Donna Aznoe at Atonement Youth & Family National Youth Gathering 2018 Every three years, 30,000 high school youth and their adult leaders gather for a week of faith formation known as the ELCA Youth Gathering. Through days spent in interactive learning, worship, Bible study, service and fellowship, young people grow in faith and are challenged and inspired to live their faith in their daily lives. The next National Youth Gathering is scheduled for June 27-July 1, 2018 in Houston, TX. High School youth (high school age in 2018). The bus leaves Atonement at 11:00 a.m. on June 24. Vacation Bible School at Atonement (VBS) July :00 am- 3:00 pm, July 13-9:00 am-12:00 pm 4K-6th graders (for the school year). Older youth would make perfect volunteers! Green Bay Bullfrogs Game Wednesday, August 1 at 11:00 am. Meet in Atonement parking lot at 10:30 am. Kathy will pick up, take the kids, and return them after the game. 7 Christian Education Confirmation Ministry 2018 CONFIRMATION WORSHIP HELPER SCHEDULE Each young adult that is part of our Confirmation Ministry is expected to be a worship helper to our pastor. As a Worship Helper you will arrive at 8:45 a.m. and do the following: Carry in Communion Items with Parents or other Adult as ushers come forward with the Offering Help with Holy Communion by distributing the wine. 8 Community Outreach: NEW Shelter Meal Signup sheet is on the Narthex Counter for Meal Coordinators/Servers for We will serve our usual spaghetti dinner and all the fixings. Please see the signup sheet in the narthex for ways you can help. We have a great crew that does prep work on Monday morning, you would need to haul the food over to the shelter in the late afternoon and be a part of serving the meal from 4:45 until 6:00 pm. You are done right after the meal is served. Please consider helping in this wonderful ministry. Sign up for one month or more. The bin is located in the Narthex cabinet labeled Freedom House. It is on the end of the Narthex counter, near the coat rack. Check the bin periodically during your month, if it is getting full, do a delivery. Thank you! Paul s Pantry We always collect Egg Cartons, Paper Bags, Plastic Bags, and Eye Glasses for Paul s Pantry. Put your donated items in the Narthex Counter cabinet marked Paul s Pantry. The pantry was founded in 1984 by the late Leo Frigo. Leo had retired as President of Frigo Cheese and wished to devote the remainder of his life to helping those in need. Leo realized that the amount of food being thrown away by business was shameful and that the unsalable but edible food could be used to benefit the needy in our local community. Please join us in supporting their mission by donating egg cartons, bags, eye glasses. Atonement's Prayer Chain The Prayer Chain consists of several people who are contacted via when someone has a prayer request. When an is received by the group, they each pray for the request. If you would like to be on the list to receive prayer requests, or if you would like the group to pray for you or a loved one, please contact me, Janet Jacobson at or jjanim@aol.com. In the Hospital? If you want us to know you are going to be and/or are hospitalized, please be sure to contact the church office, at When admitted to the hospital, tell them to contact Atonement. Even when you tell this to the hospital, sometimes we are called and sometimes we are not. The only way to be sure we know about your hospitalization is for you or a family member to contact us directly. Without your assistance, it is very possible your hospitalization will not be known to us.

Please feel free to take one for your child to use and return to the rack following worship. Festival Foods Invites Veterans Each Friday from 8:00 a.m. to noon Festival Foods on University Avenue (this location only) will provide complimentary coffee and donuts to veterans in the community conference room, located above the deli. All veterans are welcome each week to meet fellow veterans, share stories, and enjoy freshly baked treats and coffee. Large Print Bulletins are available from the ushers. 10 Medical Equipment Loan Program Winiecki VFW Post 9677 in Bellevue has medical items that are available to anyone in need on an as is condition. The equipment is on loan and must be returned when no longer needed. Veterans have preference. 11 Atonement Lutheran Church Council Meeting Minutes Thursday, March 15, 2018 In attendance: Jason Helgeson President, Corey Kirch Vice President, Julie Geyer Treasurer, Lora Vandevoorde Secretary, Gene Vandevoorde, Tori Wheelock, Kevin Nesslein, Joellyn Kacynski, Paul Sager, and Pastor David Raben Jason called the meeting to order at 6:33pm. Joellyn began the meeting with a devotional reading. Approval of February 15, 2018 minutes: Gene motioned to approve. Corey seconded. Motion carried. January Committee Reports were sent electronically to the council. The following items were discussed: Youth & Family will hold an event on May 6 for new families called New Family Fiesta to engage new members and families that haven t attended in the recent past. Will have food catered in and games to play. Also considering an outdoor service in June with water day afterward. Kathy should get in touch with Tori regarding dates for the outdoor service. Properties Went through an audit from Safe Church, showed there are improvements to be made. One of the furnaces needs to be replaced. Corey made a motion to give Properties committee the authority to spend $3,000-4,000 to replace furnace #1, Tori seconded. Motion carried. Building fund has money available and this is included in the long-term (10 year) plan. Worship & Music Discussed holy week. Pastor wants a couple people to open doors to congregation on Easter Sunday. Dan Wheelock volunteered. Jason will join him. United 2 Serve Chicken Dinner & Auction is April 28. Requesting the following distributions: $2,000 for Properties/Building, $ for VBS, $250 for Chicken Dinner, $50 for Edison Hygiene drive, $61 for Sento/Sierra Leone, $111 to ADR, and $222 to General fund. Corey made a motion to approve, Kevin seconded. Motion carried. Tori made a motion to approve all committee reports, Gene seconded. Motion carried. Pastor s Report A big thanks to Kathy for putting together the Wednesday dinners. Thanks to the volunteers at the Wednesday services. Pastor Kristina Jensen, who will be preaching on April 29, does workshops on visioning/life coaching. If funds are available, this would be a good program for adult education. Council installation date chosen is April 8. Joellyn made a motion to approve Pastor David s report. Paul seconded. Motion carried. Treasurer s Report Julie reviewed the treasurer s report for February. Debentures paid down by $7,000. Revenue is over budget because we had several large annual donations in February. Under budget in expenses YTD because we aren t paying a music director. Corey made a motion to approve Julie s report. Lora seconded. Motion carried. Old Business 1. Call Committee update. The Call Committee has a candidate and has done a phone interview. 2. Hispanic AA meetings: Santiago decided to discontinue the Hispanic AA meetings, mainly due to low attendance recently. 3. Council Retreat: Scheduled for April 8 after worship service. New Business 1. Music Director Update: Gene and Tori have interviewed a candidate and made an offer to her. Cate has great experience as organist, accompanist, choir director and music director. She and her family moved back to the area a couple years ago and have been searching for a church for the last year. They really like Atonement and she s excited about starting her position. She will be introduced on Palm Sunday. Her start date is April 1, but she won t begin working with the choir until the rehearsal after that.

12 Other Items Lori now has access to the feed for the outside cameras. She can go back and review footage if necessary. The church security presentation given recently prompted a few potential action items: entryway cameras/monitors, a future presentation on self-defense, and additional training for ushers. Council will discuss more in the future. Meeting adjourned at 7:46pm. Update from Edison Eagles- We will start a Hygiene drive in April for Edison Eagles-this will start this coming Sunday-April 15 th -Donna to get a basket started and Lori will create a sign for Edison Eagles drive!!
