As you place baby Jesus in the manger on Monday I offer you the following blessing you can do as a family: Read Isaiah 9:1-2, 5 Leader: Let us pray in silence for the coming of peace into the world and into our home. Pause for silent prayer. Lord, as we pray before this our Christmas crib-shrine and await the feast of the Birth of the Holy Child, call forth the dormant child from within each of us; cause us to wonder and to rejoice again in this most ancient feast. As the magi came bearing gifts, may we, this Christmas, gift one another with the gold of charity, the myrrh of kindness, and the incense of prayer. With the shepherds, we come to the birth of Christ seeking a simple celebration, where the greatest gift will be ourselves given to You, our God, and to each other. May the star of Bethlehem which shone brightly over the first crib stand guard over our home, filling it and all the earth with light and peace. You may sing a Christmas song such as Silent Night. We Adore You, O Christ, and we bless you because by Your holy birth You give hope to all the world. Amen. REMEMBER IN PRAYER Pray For The Sick... A Holy Advent Leads To A Joyful Christmas During Advent, we wait for the gift of pure love. Taking time each day this season to create moments of watchful silence and thoughtful preparation will lead to real joy at Christmas. Watchful silence. For God alone my soul waits in silence, for my hope is from him. (Psalm 62:5) God does not shout. He speaks quietly and softly, in a still small voice. (1 Kings 19:11-12). It isn t always heard in the rush of daily life but in the silence of our hearts. During Advent, slow down, quiet down and listen for the still small voice of God. Prepare. Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving (Colossians 4:2). We fall into sin because our hearts are not continuously turned to God. When we confidently turn to Him each day, He will give us the protection and strength we need to withstand the darkness of sin. God does not expect us to be perfect but He does want us to be a little better today than the day before. Regular confession is indispensable. Celebrate. We were created to have a mutual, loving relationship with God. In fact, He loves us so much that He sent His Son to show us, tell us, and die for us. Celebrate our love story on Christmas with Mass and joy. Adorers Needed: We are needing permanent replacements for adoration at the following times: Tuesday 1:00 to 2:00 a.m. and Friday 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. If you feel called to do these times with Jesus, please call Janet Holub at or

A Christmas Prayer...When life forces us to wrestle with what s difficult, give us courage. Teach us that there is a purpose in everything we experience, and everything is more than it appears to be. This world is permeated by Your presence, and is Your presence in form. May we be drawn to Your voice above the other, competing voices. Great and Holy One, we pray for Peace. Take us to the abode of Peace for which all hearts long. We pray to find stillness within our busyness, and rest in the midst of our celebrations and activity. Show us how to walk more gently, more patiently, on the Earth. Let Kindness be born within all hearts. Teach us to draw together as one people. One humanity. One heart. One spirit. One longing. May our prayer rise up like fire and be Light for a troubled world. This we know. Something is trying to be born in us. Take our hand as we set out anew.
