Learning about money and using it can only help. We can do that at Pilgrim in 2019, with good help from Jeff Hakala. (You may have seen his wife, Janet at Pilgrim she works in the Habitat for Humanity of ice.) Jeff is with Thrivent, and is hosting several seminars on money. His goal is to bring value to people, that they can use to be wise with their money, so that they can live generously and positively impact the people they love and things they care about. Items needed are: hot hand/toe warmers, bandaids, mi ens, gloves, small flashlights, and always new socks.

All are welcome, no ma er the age. Hope to see you there!!! WEDNESDAY BIBLE STUDY Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m. resumes January 9 Inclusive Care Unit The youth are looking for dona ons to the Inclusive Care Unit outside. Items needed are: hot hand/toe warmers, bandaids, mi ens, gloves, small flashlights, and always new socks. Please bring any donated items to the church and place under the table with the chemo basket in the narthex. The youth fill the Unit weekly. Thank you for your support -- the unit is being used by people who really need help -- some have even stopped in to thank us for having items available. Together we are making a difference. Thank You!! M B B (but certainly not at Pilgrim!!) Miss Charlene Mason sang, "I Will Not Pass This Way Again," giving obvious pleasure to the congregation. Ladies, don't forget the rummage sale. It is a good chance to get rid of those things not worth keeping around the house. Bring your husbands. Next Sunday is the family hayride and bonfire at the Fowlers. Bring your own hot dogs and guns. Friends are welcome! Everyone come for a fun time. "Wise Up, O Men of God". Smile at someone who is hard to love. Say "hell" to someone who doesn't care much about you. QUILTERS Saturday, January 19 9:00 a.m. Call to order: Tanya called the mee ng to order. Opened the mee ng: Pastor Will opened with prayer. Roll Call: Jamie had an excused absence. Jan was not in a endance. All other council members were in a endance. Secretary s Report: Nothing to review from last mee ng, as the mee ng did not have a quorum and no business was completed. Treasurer s Report: A financial summary was not available for November to review by the me of this mee ng. Rachel did discuss preliminary informa on for the budget for next year. Pastor s Report: Pastor Will extended a thank-you to Rachel for her accoun ng work for Pilgrim and the service she has provided. It is much appreciated. 2) Will discussed that Jeff Hackola from Thrivent will be giving seven presenta ons in February to May about different useful financial situa ons that can arise for our members, such as legacy giving, iden ty the, or end of life decisions. 3) Discussed that the Tanzania trip will be cancelled due to Pastor Freiberg having to treat his progressing cancer. The rotary has s ll granted money for a new laundry to be built in Tanzania, which can be built without Steve. 4) Discussed the need for new council members and asked those that are filling in to con nue un l June. 5) Discussed temporary dates for annual mee ng in January. Pastor Will did leave a er his report. Property Commi ee Report: Larry gave a report on what was discussed in the property commi ee. 1) Fire inspec on was completed on our building and everything checked out ok. There was a recommenda on for installing more fire detectors, up to 7 more. 2) New phone system installed with Telephone Associates 3) Our commercial vacuum cleaner needed a new motor, which was replaced. 4) Radiator has a small leak, called to get it repaired. 5) Parking lot s ll has dark spots, may need to install new lights to increase light in the parking lot. 6) Parking lot space lines are down, but the old lines s ll need some buffing out. Larry le a er giving his report at the beginning of the mee ng, before it was called to order. Other Business: The main por on of the other business discussed was the review and discussion of the upcoming budget. Rachel reviewed the numbers from this year, and projected numbers for next year. Mo on to approve budget proposed by Jenny, Ma seconded. Budget approved by all of council. Rachel moved to adjourn mee ng, Ma seconded. Mee ng adjourned. Tanya closed with the Lord s Prayer. Pilgrim warmly welcomes new students from many countries to America and Superior with this dinner. Come be part of saying 'welcome' by cooking, serving and/or eating. Watch for sign-ups at church. Q Q The Quarterly Quilters will meet on Saturday January 19th from We are inviting all children (and folks young at heart) to join us that morning to make Tied Fleece blankets. We would like to have one for you to take home, and one for us to donate to a local shelter! There will be plenty of fleece to choose from, so please bring a friend - or two! We will have refreshments, and options to work on other quilts for anyone interested. Come when you can, leave when you must! 4 Notes from PLCPeople 150 people attended Pilgrim s recent holiday celebration: Lessons and Carols and the St. Lucia Vesper Tea. Great events require dedicated volunteers. Thank you to all of our great people. PLCPeople will meet for a Continental Brunch on January 19, 2019 to take care of end of the year business.
