Martin Luther King, Jr. Program Co-Chairs for September: Tim Stillings and Jerry Sewell THIS WEEK Contrasting Cuba Dr. Ken Moore and Tim Stillings Host: Tim Stillings Rotarian members, Ken Moore and Tim Stillings will share their experiences traveling to Cuba after the travel ban was lifted. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Fellow Rotarians, Thank you for the years that I have enjoyed as a member of Franklin Rotary at Breakfast. Thank you to Jeff Brasher for sponsoring me. Nancy and I are moving to Panama City Beach, Florida and I hope to join a Rotary club there. I know that I am going to miss our Wednesday morning gatherings I have enjoyed the programs and sharing breakfast with different ones of you. I have enjoyed the golf tournaments and the success that our club has enjoyed there. You were kind enough to allow me to serve on the Board. I enjoyed that privilege and responsibility. Meandering Thoughts of a Rotary President Announcements Club Leadership Upcoming Meetings Committee Chairs Area Rotary Meetings Keep up the good work that you do for Franklin, Williamson County and beyond! 2 Meandering Thoughts of a Rotary Club President September 23, 2018 It is a rainy day in Franklin. I know the people who are planning on going to the Pilgrimage festival are making plans to have fun today in spite of the rain. Looking ahead to October, I am thinking about our own addition to the Rotary Four Way Test Have Fun! We have been having great programs this year and I know that October will have some great programs for you to laugh and learn, so I hope that I will see you on Wednesday mornings. The 3 rd Way is Will it build goodwill and better friendships?? There are plenty of ways for you to Have Fun in October as a member of the Franklin Rotary at Breakfast. The month starts off with our Franklin Golf Classic on October 8 at Legends followed closely behind by the Fireside Chat at Tom and Lydia Miller s on October 15. There is always friendly competition for bragging rights for the best Rotary chili! This year s winner will be the chili recipe we use at the Franklin Downtown Rotary Chili Cook Off on October 27. We had a great Rotary After Hours on Thursday night. Make plans to enjoy a Date Night at Arrington Vineyards with fellow Rotarians later in October. If you haven t already signed up for dictionary deliveries, we deliver dictionaries to 2 elementary schools each week. There is no more fun than seeing smiles on 3 rd grader faces. We have 2 Habitat for Humanity Builds scheduled for October 13 and October 20. You don t have to be a carpenter to have fun building a home for someone in need. Join me in being a servant leader by being involved in one or more of these events. I promise that you will be blessed as much as those you serve. How may I serve you today?
