On this day, clocks are set back hour, except for Hawaii and parts of Arizona which do not observe DST. In 0, DST falls on the th of November. The dates for DST to begin and end were set forth by the US Congress in the Energy Act of 00. Arizona, Hawaii, and four US territories (Guam, American Samoa, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands) do not observe Daylight Savings Time. 2 Tenant's Association News Our Thanksgiving Dinner will be on November th, Thursday, in the Community Room. Watch for signup sheet and price on the bulletin boards. Tenant's Association Notes Our next Tenant's Association meeting will be on Monday, November th at :00 pm in the Community Room. All tenants are welcome to attend, especially anyone that have recently moved into the building.if you have recently moved in, you are automatically a member of the association. No dues are required. Come on down and meet with your new neighbors, and see how the Tenants' Association can be a benefit for you. October Rummage and Bake Sale Results Food $0. Rummage $. Donations $0.00 Jewelry $. Raffle $.0 Subtotal $008.9 At our September meeting, Clara Aquilera received a gift from the Tenants' Association for all she does for the Association. The Music Jam will be in the Community Room on the second Tuesday of the month from :00pm to 8:00 pm. Irving Rose will be having surgery and June Hagadone has volunteered to pass out the Tower Talk on floors 9-0- until Irving is on his feet again. We wish him good luck. We are attempting to reserve December th for our Christmas dinner. Further details will be posted on the bulletin boards when they become available. Expenses (Hot Dogs, Chili, Hot Dog Sauce, Newspaper Ad) Total Profit -$9.8 $88. Audrey Mendetta will be catering both of our dinners (subject to scheduling). The weekly Pokeno games will now be held in the Community Room on Tuesday nights at :00pm. (No games on Nov. 8th - Music Jam). games will held on Sunday and Saturday from :00 pm to 8:00pm in the community room.

3 October 0 Thank You A thank you goes out to everyone who gave their time to help with our Rummage Sale, from the set-up, the people who bagged the purchases, the grill person(s), and the volunteers that helped with the clean up after the sale. Thank you to all of the people that volunteered their time to make our weekly games such a success. When told the reason for daylight savings time, the Old Indian said, "Only the government would believe that you could cut a foot off the top of a blanket, sew it to the bottom, and have a longer blanket." Helpful Helpers - Hints and Health Tips: If you feel that you need to lose weight, but aren't ready for a strict diet, try an almost diet by cutting down on some of the richer foods and sauces. To reduce calories, cut out one calorie rich item or try a low calorie substitute. To reduce the temptation to snack, avoid creating leftovers, make just enough for a single serving or make enough for two meals and freeze the second serving immediately. To help sleep, try a hot toddy. Mix together the juice for half a lemon, a teaspoon of honey, six ounces of hot water, a dollop of whiskey (if one doesn't work, try two or more as necessary), drink down and hop into bed (attempted this method, but using more than one dollop created an issue finding the bed). Thank you to Joe and Maggie for everything they do to help make life a little more enjoyable for the residents of Kingsboro Towers. A special Thank You to the Gloversville Housing Authority for having someone in the office on Tuesday and Thursday. Thank you to all of our great maintenance staff for providing residents a comfortable place to live in. Thank you to all of the volunteers that make our morning coffee hours such a success; we are really grateful to Tootie for all of her efforts. Last but not least, Thank You to Clara Aguilera for all she does for the residents and her other volunteer work. Joke of the Month - Medical Did you hear about the doctor who wrote out a prescription in the usual doctor's fashion? The patient used for two years as a railroad pass, twice it got him into Radio City Music Hall and once into Yankee Stadium. It came in handy as a letter from his employer to the cashier to increase his salary. And to cap the climax, his daughter played it on the piano and won a scholarship to the Curtis Music Conservatory.

At this time our sympathy goes out to the family of Larry Rouse, a long time resident of Kingsboro Towers who recently passed away. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him. Lightly grease a 9x inch baking dish. Melt tablespoons butter in a saucepan over low heat. Blend in the flour. Slowly stir in evaporated milk and water, then season with salt, pepper, and onion powder. Stir sauce over low heat for minutes. In a separate saucepan over low heat, melt tablespoons butter. Blend in the dry stuffing mix. Place the turkey in the prepared baking dish. Pour the sauce over turkey, then sprinkle with Cheddar cheese. Spread mashed potatoes over cheese. Top mashed potatoes with the stuffing mixture. Bake minutes in the preheated oven.
