2 Solemnity of The Circumcision of the Lord Contemporary Rite p. 63 Hymn of Faith p. 13 vv. 1 & 2 Penitential Rite, p. 66 V. This is my covenant with you and your descendants after you that you must keep: every male among you shall be circumcised. R. I will not violate My covenant; the promise of My lips I will not alter. By My holiness, I swore once for all. V. Glory Be R. As it was in the beginning Deacon s Dialogue Deacon Richard Kasprzak ELIZABETH AND I WISH THAT THE BLESSINGS OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST BE WITH YOU AND YOUR WIVES AND FAMILIES FOR THE YEAR OF OUR LORD 2017, AND MAY OUR HOLY CHURCH GROW AND PROSPER IN THE SERVICE OF GOD THE FATHER, THE SON AND THE HOLY SPIRIT. DEACON RICHARD AND ELIZABETH KASPRZAK A Reading from the Book of Genesis. Genesis 17:9-14 God said to Abraham: For your part, you and your descendants after you must keep my covenant throughout the ages. This is the covenant between me and you and your descendants after you that you must keep: every male among you shall be circumcised. Circumcise the flesh of your foreskin. That will be the sign of the covenant between me and you. Throughout the ages, every male among you, when he is eight days old, shall be circumcised, including houseborn slaves and those acquired with money from any foreigner who is not of your descendants. Yes, both the houseborn slaves and those acquired with money must be circumcised. Thus my covenant will be in your flesh as an everlasting covenant. If a male is uncircumcised, that is, if the flesh of his foreskin has not been cut away, such a one will be cut off from his people; he has broken my covenant. This is the Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.. Psalm The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing my soul. (Psalm 19) (Sung by Choir) A reading from the letter of St. Paul to the Galatians. Galatians 5:3-6 Brothers and Sisters: Once again I declare to every man who has himself circumcised January 1, January 1,
