To access the website, go to The Brooklyn ECW was proud to help support the SJEH auxiliary Back to School initiative with a gift of $ I helped in the distribution of those supplies, and what a joy to see the smiles on the faces of those children. There were over 200 children of every age group and each received a backpack filled with pens, pencils, etc. Our fall membership meeting was for the election of president, secretaries (corresponding and recording). We filled the positions with the re-election of our president and corresponding secretary. We will keep praying for the position of recording secretary to be filled. The ladies also brought school supplies for the Children of Promise. Gerri Bell stated that along with the parishioners of St Philip s Episcopal Church the call was a success and she filled 8 to 10 large black plastic bags to donate. Last year the nearly 3000 toys donated by communicants in the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island were distributed at three parties: one in the new Pediatric Office, another in the Family and Children s Services offices of Behavioral Medicine and the last at a local elementary school. These toys enriched the lives and brightened the holidays of children while demonstrating the commitment of Episcopalians to make God s Kingdom come on earth as it is in Heaven. Lay and clergy delegates to Diocesan Convention at the Melville Marriot November 11 and 12 are invited to bring new unwrapped toys for the 2016 Children s Holiday Party. The Hospital Auxiliary and Mother Cecily Broderick are thankful to the many congregations that donated school supplies. Approximately 275 backpacks were given to children who are patients of the Pediatric Practice or clients of the Family and Children s Service of St. John s Episcopal Hospital. Thank you for the three ring binders, pencil boxes, memory sticks, backpacks, crayons, rulers, composition notebooks, etc. Rest easy, knowing that needy children in families dealing with economic, social and health care challenges set off to school this fall as well equipped as our own children and This newsletter will be published once every quarter for distribution in the months of April, July, October, and January. We welcome any questions regarding the role of the Episcopal Church Women in the Church. In order to research and answer your questions in a timely manner, questions must be received by the 15th day of the month after publications. We will certainly do our best to address all questions received. You may also send us suggestions on things you would like to see or comments on the helpfulness of this newsletter. We certainly hope you have enjoyed reading, and may God bless you as you continue your ministry in the world. Questions must be sent via to the committee members: Editor: Barbara Taylor tylbrb@verizon.net Editor: Maria Finley mlcfinley@hotmail.com Publisher: Vernese Smith vern.bert@verizon.net Meagan Cuffy-Nettey meagan.nettey@gmail.com Patricia McNab jdgranny1@gmail.com
