4 The St. Luke s Rector Search Process

INFORMATION GATHERING - information, perspectives and opinions to honestly and accurately describe St. Luke s our strengths, areas for improvement, ministries, vision, and future needs. 2. PARISH PROFILE / CANDIDATE RECRUITMENT - used to advertise the position and recruit interested and eligible candidates for St. Luke s. Who We Are What We Want or Need in the Future What We Will Offer a New Rector What We Expect from a New Rector 3. CANDIDATE SCREENING - screen eligible candidates for ultimate consideration by the St. Luke s Vestry. 4. 6 The St. Luke s Rector Search Process If the process of finding a new rector for St. Luke s was simply a hiring process, we could make that choice in a month or two. The St. Luke s Rector Search Process is a discernment process guided by faith and prayer. Discernment for the St. Luke s parish family and leadership Discernment for the priests (and their family) interested in being St. Luke s next rector
7 St. Luke s Search Committee Kris Bonner Steve Clark Walt Gasior Darian Kedy Jim Liehr, Chair Monica Martin We are committed to providing full and regular communications with the St. Luke s family throughout this process. We are also committed to being as open, transparent and inclusive in our work as we are able with one exception. The one exception will be our need for strict privacy during the candidate screening, Vestry interviewing and candidate calling steps.

33 Prayer of St. Francis Lord, make me an instrument of your peace, Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy; O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
