Our Covenant Together: Love. Lead. Teach. Transform. People of 1st UMC, THE PASTOR S PAGE 110 N. Cass Street, Wabash, IN This summer is going to be eventful. We have finished Stage 1 of the Fruitful Congregation Journey and that team will be sharing their learning and the direction they believe our congregation will need to go to fulfill our mission to make new disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. We have begun prayer walking in our community and will continue to be out, our neighbors. We will continue to walk in June and July. On August 27th, 3pm-5pm, we are walking and leaving an invitation to a worship in the parking lot block party on September 10. It is vital that we, as a congregation and individuals, make relationships with our neighbors. So far, a group of 20 youth, children, and adults have covered much of the 5 block radius. In that time, we have met a couple dozen of our neighbors. I had opportunity to converse with a few of our neighbors. Some of them know about our church. They know about our playground and are anxious to be able to have access to it. Wabash 1st UMC, I pray through this next season of our life together that we can become a group of Jesus followers who reach out to our neighbors. I pray that we will love people and bring the gospel outside of the walls of our church. I hope we will be the church with our family and friends. I pray that we will embody Christ at work and school. I pray that God will honor our work and we will honor God by following toward God s mission. Please join me in prayer daily: God of this city, You love the people around us; give us hearts that love them too. Break our hearts by the things that break Your heart. Go in front of us and help us make the lives of those around us better for the sake of Your Kingdom. Help us extend grace. Help those we touch come to follow You. Amen. 3 I would like to start by thanking everyone that has welcomed me as I begin my new position as director of Children s Ministry. I am looking forward to working with each of you as we serve and nurture the children. Thank you to those of you who were able to attend our in May and for signing up for the available teaching opportunities. If you were not able to attend and would like to volunteer, please let me know. I have started a playground supervision schedule sign up so that our children may utilize the playground after the 10:00 service on Sunday. If you would like to sign up for times to help supervise, the sign-up sheet is on the table by the stairs, next to the VBS information. At present, this library contains children s books which are available to any child in the community. A child may take a book and keep it, or he/she can take a book and return it or replace it with another book as a way of sharing. If you have any children s books in new or gently used condition that you would like to donate, or have questions concerning this library, please contact me. 4 PRAYER WALKING CLASS ON SITE WITH INSIGHT WE WILL BE PRAYER WALKING IN JUNE & JULY, WITH DATES YET TO BE DETERMINED. ALSO, WE WILL BE PRAYER WALKING ON AUGUST 27th. SUNDAY WORSHIP SCHEDULE 8:00 a.m. in the Chapel 9:00 a.m. Adult Classes 10:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary Coffee hour following the 10 a.m. service, in the MAC Communion on the first Sunday of each month Starting Sunday, June 4, following the 10 a.m. service, the playground will be open (weather permitting) for the children and supervised by volunteers. I am so grateful to those who responded to the call and donated baked goods for the Wabash Inclusive Playground Family Fun Day event held on Sunday, May 21st. We had a beautiful day with great attendance and we raised over $3000 for the future Inclusive Playground! Our entire committee appreciates your help in making this day a great success! Shelly Myers

Please bring dry and/or canned items you would like to contribute to the Friends In Service Here food pantry, to church, on Sunday, June 4th. All contributions w ill be delivered to F.I.S.H. during the week. Suggested Items: Canned fruit & vegetables, cereal, pasta, tuna, canned meat, peanut butter, spaghetti sauce.
