1 Florida State Association of Masonic High Twelve Clubs Greetings and Best Wishes February 2013 With sadness and regret we announce the passing of Past State President and Past State Treasurer Dick Walls - Service was Monday 2/11/2013 at the Masonic Home Hawthorne HI 12 An Interesting, FUN and informative meeting was held today by President Cliff Frazier at Golden Corral in Leesburg which started with lunch at 11:00 AM for less than $7.00 including drink - full room left standing room only Guest welcomed included Linsy of the UK who was present for Jim Hall s 90 th Birthday party all promised to return for Jim s 100 th Birthday Also present was George and Ruth Wikane from the past Leesburg HI 12 club who also have a petition of membership we welcome and are excited to have them at Hawthorne An Interesting Speaker Carol Clendinen - Mom of a Wolcott recipient - Now - Professor Michael E. Smith PhD who had attended and graduated from Leesburg HS then attended UCF and was then granted a Wolcott scholarship with the help of PSP of Florida Leslie Wheeler 1986 who became International President Carol spoke of the trials, tribulations and hope during these times and with some humor that was warmly received and enjoyed by all Carol had the full attention of all as she expressed the results and accomplishments of her son and the appreciation they have for what Hi 12 did and continues to do Our Wolcott Representative Sam Getter presented 2 Wolcott Bonds to Jim Hall and Dick Blount and also discussed the recent loss of our good friend, Brother and HI 12 member Bill McCullough who set the bar for us and Wolcott always attentive and when appropriate presenting a Wolcott Bond to them for their service whatever it happened to be Sunshine Lady Judy Shook spoke of our Members and Ladies absent and our thoughts and concerns for them The passing and service of William Bill McCullough welcome back to Anne and Forest Case Tavares Masonic High Twelve Club # 557 Tavares Masonic Hi 12 club #557 remains solvent and active Congratulations A club of great history, contribution and service with leaders that created a bench mark for others and thankfulness from community, youth, Wolcott and Masons in Florida what a legacy and great work from a dedicated Club and individuals to have it just cast away after a long fruitful and harmonious 34 years of fun and fellowship

Without that support our club many not have survived. CORTEZ MASONIC HIGH TWELVE CLUB # 538 FLORIDA STATE 2012 HIGH TWELVIAN OF THE YEAR Florida s 2012 High Twelve State President, Ray Trudeau presents Florida s 2012 Hi-12 most prestigious award to Gene Black, former State Secretary and current State By-Law Chairman as well as current Treasurer of Cortez Club # 538 in Bradenton. Standing with them is Virginia Black, Gene s wife. Robert L (Bob) Rodd, Donor Relations Chairman for Sahib Temple presents Plaques to some of the members of Cortez Masonic High Twelve Club # 538 who are donating to the Shriners Hospital for Children program for the Tampa Hospital. On Feb 5 th about 14 of us went over to the Trailer Estates Square Club and shared a great prime rib dinner as the two groups celebrated Valentine s Day together. Then on Feb 11 th around 14 of us went up to Mid

3 Florida Lakes in Leesburg for this year s High Twelve Hi 12 Day which is the largest event of the year for the State Association. A great day was had by all. Then on Wednesday, March 6 th we will be holding our Annual Picnic out on Anna Maria Island which is a favorite of all. Come bask, hopefully in the sun, share photos, play games, join in our sing along, enjoy great eats and just have a great day. Tri County Masonic High Twelve Club No. 674, Lady Lake, Florida President s Message: Our guest speaker will be Deputy Walter Wolf, Crime Watch Coordinator, of the Lake County Sheriff's Office. He will be talking to us about the ways the Bad Guys try to rip off senior citizens and other subjects. Our entertainment usually lasts about 30 minutes but his Program lasts about 45 minutes, so we will have to have a short meeting. We sent out the first Telephone Tree message and I hope you all received it. Tom Picket will be making the monthly calls and he has promised that he will keep the calls short. International Mid-Year Meeting in Las Vegas and it was well organized and much was accomplished. The business that was covered at the meeting will affect the State Associations and a limited amount on the clubs. The International Officers are doing their best to make everyone s job easier and providing assistance to the Associations and Clubs. Much of the material covered will be voted on at the Annual Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in June. I hope some of our officers and members might attend the Convention and enjoy the city of Philadelphia sights. Our entertainment for March will be the Further Ado Barbershop Quartet from the Villages. The Quartet has performed for many groups and is always well received. I am sure you will enjoy them too. In April Rita Kreider will tell us about her visit to Africa. She plans on having photos available, so we can share what she saw. Port St. Lucie High 12 Club #611 Recently, the Port St. Lucie High 12 Club enjoyed a four hour cruise on the Island Princess out of Stuart, Florida, down to the Jupiter Light House and return. We cruised by the homes of the rich and famous, Tiger woods, Perry Como and Bing Crosby as well as many of the nations industrial giants. The trip was narrated on the downward leg of the trip. we all learned about the eco system of Florida, as well as many of the land and game preserves that have been established along this route. We were served a delicious box lunch on board as well as Danish pastry and coffee upon boarding. We had 55 members, wives and friends join us for this delightful day of Masonic Brotherhood out on the water. Jack Lagerquist, VP

Dora to meet with the girls of the Mt. Dora Rainbow. A very nice visit with the eight young ladies present and Mom Debbie Dyer. A presentation was made to them the result of items made, displayed and sold at our December 3, th Florida State Masonic Convention for a total of $125.00, plus the items that were left. The girls are going to use the left over items at the sale that they are having in March. They were pleased that they were thought of and to be the ones to receive this gift Your efforts at convention surely have been appreciated Thank you to all Florida State Masonic High Twelve Day 2013 Emcee Richard Simpson welcomed all that included a prayer and flag ceremony The Highlight was a special visit by our Florida State Grand Master M:. W:. Jorge (George) Aladro who presented an informative message that included his appreciation of High Twelve our purpose and support for community, youth and Masonry he did expand on the Youth groups especially in Florida of - Rainbow, Demolay and Jobs Daughters and the great example they set for youth and our future that we can look forward to as a result of their efforts he did bring to our attention the need that exists for for us to consider volunteering to assist these groups as a real need does exists for this A presentation was made to the Grand master for his charity this year and much appreciation, thanks and excitement was expressed by all in attendance for our Grand Masters visit and message A presentation was made to the Grand master for his charity this year and much appreciation, thanks and excitement was expressed by all in attendance for his visit and message A special thanks to our 2 nd VP David Neal for his total and complete planning of our Florida State Masonic High Twelve Day what a time our dinner was catered by the mason jar of tossed salad baked chicken or ham, real mashed potatoes and gravy hot green beans with ham chunks corn muffins and biscuits, apple crisp and pie desserts wow real homemade vittles yummy

5 Our State President William Staple introduced all State officers and other dignitaries present and recognized all appendant bodies and members, officers, etc. thereof The Raymond Turner Membership Trophy Winner was announced Bernard Kainer President of the Lakeworth HI 12 Club #316 returned the trophy which they had won in 2012 and during the past year they traveled to Masonic Lodges in their area to display and explain HI 12 and its purpose This year 2013 the membership Trophy was won by the Masonic Home HI 12 Club #702 as no members were present to accept this award our president announced that a visit to the Masonic Home HI 12 Club and during its meeting the trophy would be presented to its membership Of Honorable Mention is Tri-County Hi 12 Club #674 this clubs membership increase did surpass that of the Masonic Home However because of the authored rules and formula to determine the winner and in an effort to create equality between a smaller clubs VS larger clubs this does occur that a smaller club with a smaller membership increase is able to win it also reflects on the population and opportunities of the area in which a club is located Entertainment was a smash hit Donna Moore from Orlando kept all entertained and upbeat with a varied program that included Patsy Kline, Bette Midler, Cher, Connie Francis, Janis Joplin and Dolly Parton at times mixing with the crowd that brought much laughter and enjoyment A variety of drawings closed the day of fun Have you recognized a member and or his lady or a member of your community this month for something they have done for High Twelve?
