2 Words from the East Topics for Februarys Stated Meeting: Brother Dan Marr will present the new Papillion Masonic Family Sign quotes. Brother Dan and WB Mel have put a lot of work into this important improvement. Brother Adam Cjeka will give us an update on the CHIP event for Please reach out to Brother Adam if you would like to help. Brother Curtis Marr would like to give us an update and or presentation for the Rock Maul award. We will be discussing the Papillion Mayor visit March 27th at 7:00 pm. I would like to have the community, social media and courtesy communities get together and help define what we can do to get the most leverage out of this event. We will discuss deadline for the plan. We are pleased and excited to have Brother Dick Corwin give us his presentation on Poncuis Pilot on March 20th 7:00 pm. It is my hope that presentations like this will encourage more participation and attendance at our meetings and events from all our Papillion Lodge members. As I see it, the issue is not to attract more Masons but making Masonry more attractive to Masons. This requires turning Masonic proceedings into meaningful, stimulating, relevant happenings in Lodge, while extending Masonic principles and objectives beyond the Lodge. A sustainable and thriving membership should be the culmination, NOT the basis for a healthy Masonic family. Fellowship should be the consequence NOT the motive for joining the Craft. A passionate quest for truth should be, at all times the inspiration and vocation of every Freemason. Yes the club needs more members. Let s first spruce up the clubhouse from the inside, and let the faithful breast, the attentive ear and instructive tongue be the true measure of our eminence. - W. E. Gutman; The Decline of Freemasonry in America, decline_of_freemasonry.html Bob Lewis Worshipful Master Words from the West Well, Installation season is nearing an end and Grand Lodge s Annual Communication is rapidly approaching. It s a busy time of year with lots of changes. I am excited for the new year in Papillion Lodge. W.M. Bob has some great things planned, and I m sure it s going to be an awesome year. Last week we had our first Entered Apprentice practice of the year with most of the new officers in their new chairs. It was an extremely impressive night. It was clear that everyone has been working on their parts. Sure, we have room for improvement, because everyone is just getting into the groove in their new chair. However, I thought it was a tremendous start and that it really sets scene for a fun and successful year. Brother Adam has been hard at work getting ready to Confer the degree. Brother Curtis is ready to jump right into Senior Deacon. Lots of other folks have been practicing and we re starting things off on the right foot. Even with all of the changes, it s nice to see some things staying the same. Such as, a number of past masters who show up regularly to help out however is needed, and to give their wisdom and guidance to the Lodge. Another thing that stays unchanged is the hard work, friendly demeanor, and helpful attitude of our Chaplain, Ken Kolodzie. He is always one of the first to arrive, setup, clean up, and lend a hand when anything needs done. He is a quiet voice of encouragement and assistance for the man in the East. And, no one can tell a story quite like he can. Some things change, but at the heart it s still Papillion Lodge. So, welcome to It s going to be a fantastic year. Daniel Marr Senior Warden 2
3 From the Desk of the Secretary / Recorder February, Grand Lodge is here, Installations are done. Practices are coming to a close, degrees and proficiencies are on the horizon, can we have 10 new members by the end of the year? it is certainly in our grasp...we have an active petition, we are reinstating the 3rd person in the last few months, and we have 5 in the pipeline to finish their degrees...4 more petitions? or more? I still have 48 York Rite to pay their dues, and 52 for lodge, I'd love to close my books before suspension deadline without suspending anyone...it would be really something to get to the March meeting and not have any names to read, ditto October for York Rite. My obligations in Missouri are coming to an end in April, and I want to thank the Brothers, Companions and Sir Knights that covered me when I couldn't be here...dennis Newman, AJ Johnson, Bill Stone, Ed Nolte and Jonathan Paz are the ones that come to mind, I am probably missing someone but I appreciate all that have helped me, 21 months down, 2 to go...thank you again. Also Adah Chapter 52 OES that kept me out of the rotation for Worthy Patron while I was dealing with Amaranth. Guess the question is do I reinstate education or humor as extra articles? Carl Highman Secretary Coffee On The Square The American Red Cross 01/05/2018 The meeting opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. We were very please to see 21 members and guests present for the January meeting. A delicious breakfast was served by Chef Walker and his crew. W. B. Jonathon Paz reviewed the dates of future events and reminded the group of our own Installation of Officers of Papillion Lodge #39 at 2:00 P.M. He then turned the floor over to Master Elect Robert Lewis. Bob gave us a summery of the plans that he wants the Lodge to accomplish in Masonic year A short discussion followed. The meeting adjourned with every one in good spirits and hoping for a good turnout again next month. Til next time I ll be racin the motor, Please donate and/or help us spread the word. 6 Adah Chapter #52 O.E.S. Sisters and Brothers, I want to thank everyone who came out to support Adah Chapter on January 20th as we installed the 2018 officers. The weather was beautiful for January, and we had a full house. Congratulations to our new Chapter Mom and Dad, Br. AJ Johnson and Sr. Wendy Johnson. Dennis and I look forward to a busy and fulfilling year as Worthy Matron and Worthy Patron. The theme for this year is Sentimental Journey. Your life is a journey with no road map or street signs. Always remember to look back on your journey and appreciate the twists and turns it took to get you here. And keep an open mind to the future as we never know where the next road will lead. My emblem, the butterfly symbolizes renewal and I hope to renew your interest and zeal for OES. If you have not been active for a while, I invite you to join us on the second Friday of the month at 7:30. Our Chapter is growing! On February 9th, we will be welcoming two new sisters to our order.
