Borgmann, Nan Borgmann, Norma, Brinkmann, Diana, Chontofalsky, Cay, Edmonson, Jane, For, Cay, F Freels, Connie, Graham, Melinda, F Hill, Barb, F Hinton, Patty, Luer, Judy, F Murray, Doroy, F Niekrenz, Helen, Niermann, Barb, F Plassman, Mike, W Reichenbacher, Judy, Smi, Charlene, Stedelin, David & Betsy, White, Jim & Susan, Weible, Linda, F The above list is of people associated wi St. Peter UCC and helped. The following list is of oer people at also helped. Giliand, Pat, James, Lynn, Koester, Be, F May, Pat, Steckland, Janet, F A total of 50 family members and friends plus 12 volunteers were in attendance for such meal. The Storck family contributed a ham, bread, and etc. to e Salvation Army for eir staff (paid and rd volunteer) meal on October 20. (This is e 3 year in a row at such personnel were able to enjoy a meal as furnished by representation of St. Peter UCC rd Church on e 3 Monday in October previous two via Wurstmarts.) Norma Borgmann, Special Events Team Reporter The seasons of e church are different an e rest of e world. The year begins wi Advent, followed by Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Easter, and Pentecost. But I like to add anoer season, at I call Thanksgiving. It lasts most of e mon of November. I know November has a day marked especially for Thanksgiving, but I just don t ink one day is enough! ( Besides e fact at we spend too much of at day inking about cooking, eating, and football.) Wi all at God has given us, wi all at God does for us, how can one day per year be enough to say ank-you? Actually, it takes at least a lifetime. But let s take e mon of November to concentrate more fully on anksgiving to God. On November 2, we begin by celebrating Totenfest, which is a time to give anks to God for e lives of ose we have lost in e last year. We continue on November 9 by saying anks for our veterans. And one way to say ank-you is to help homeless veterans by donating someing from e list for e Joseph Center. On November 23, we celebrate e season of Thanksgiving wi Stewardship Sunday, a time for planning ways to say ank-you to God by sharing our time, talents and resources. Plan to celebrate wi us, beginning wi breakfast before church. All rough e mon, you may bring a pumpkin, cornucopia or oer symbol at says Thanksgiving to you and leave it on e altar or in e altar area for e rest of e mon. Soon our sanctuary will be overflowing wi e symbols of anks to God. May your hearts be filled to overflowing as well! Happy Thanksgiving -- all mon! November, 2014 Good News Page 3
