Roy Cooper, IMB missionary serving in Cuba, will bring the associational sermon. About 57 percent of the population claims to be Catholic, but less than 10 percent attends mass, according to Operation World. On the agenda: Authentic Cuban Cuisine this will be the annual meal Mission updates Home Repair Ministry updates Roy Cooper, IMB missionary to Cuba Challenging report from our associational missionary, Ron Underwood 2015 proposed budget Messengers: Each church is entitled to two messengers, plus one additional messenger for each fifty members or fraction thereof with a maximum representation of fifteen messengers from any one church. They will visit Cuba October 2 10, 2015, to look at possibilities for Kershaw Baptist Association s involvement in missions in that country.

Tuesday, October 13, 12 Noon World Hunger Day October 11 When will you get personal about hunger? If we take God's Word seriously, the malnourished and hungry are our problem. Those who are afflicted were made in the image of God. He cares about them, which means we are to care about their welfare as well. If you have a boat, let Ron know. Some might want to fish in deeper waters, or just go for a boat ride. We will take a bus from the KBA parking lot at 11 a.m. Come ride with us. Around the Association Timrod Church has called Jeremy Ussery as pastor. His first Sunday will be October 11. He resigned as youth pastor of DeKalb Church, also in this association. He and his wife Hannah have 3 children: Adalyn Mae, 5, Joel Amos, 3, and Carolina Rae, 22 months. BAPTIST WOMEN S WORLD DAY OF PRAYER November 2, 2015 Day Meeting: 10 a.m., Springvale Baptist Church, Lugoff From Camden on Hwy #1: Turn right on Longtown Road (it veers to the right just before the traffic light at Invista). Go approximately 6 ½ miles and turn left onto Springvale Road. Go about ½ mile to a stop sign. Go straight for another 0.2 miles. Springvale is on the right. From Elgin on Hwy #1: As you come into Lugoff, turn left at the traffic light between Shoneys and McDonalds. This is Hwy #34 or Ridgeway Road. Go approx. 1.4 miles and bear to the right on Pine Grove Road. Go 5.7 miles and turn left onto Springvale Road (Springvale Road is 1.8 miles past Pine Grove Baptist Church) After you turn onto Springvale Road you will find the church about.4 of a mile on your right. Evening Meeting: 6:30 p.m., Wateree Baptist Church, Camden Turn left out of KBA parking lot. Take first road (Gardner St) to left (less than 1/10 mile). Go to the stop sign. Turn right on Haile St. Church is on the corner of Haile & Gardner streets. Mission Team Needed for Long Island We need a painting crew to go to Long Island, New York, October 26-30, to finish painting the outside of Crossroads Church, where Jamie Rogers is pastor. In case of rain, there are areas in the sanctuary that also need painting. If you can go, please contact the KBA, or kba@truvista.net, immediately.

4 Christmas Inquiry... Would we like to have a presence in the Camden (morning) and Lugoff (evening) Christmas parades this year? Would several (or many) churches like to enter an evangelist type float? Several years ago we joined together and had several entries in the Camden parade. 6 We at the KBA have prayed and feel strongly led by God to make our Home Repair Ministry a top priority across the area. To do this, we need you and your men s ministry, Sunday School class, or other church groups to get involved. Plans are to identify at least one home a month to work on as our project. If we get enough teams, you will only need to be available once a year. You are needed to join with the other churches of the KBA in this very important ministry. If you, as an individual, are interested, we can match you with another group. They installed a new bathroom and replaced floors and walls in the bedroom and bathroom. The team made some much needed repairs and updates to the homeowner s house to make it more wheelchair accessible. Below, Jerry Gardner, Disaster Relief co-director for the KBA, presents a Bible to the homeowner. As of the printing of this newsletter, they still had a few more repairs to make.
