3 Volume 32, Issue 10 BAPTIST COLLEGIATE MINISTRY UPDATE We are over a month into the school year, and it has been quite a beginning to the year. Our weekly meeting, IGNITE, has started and we have seen old faces along with several new ones, and it has been an incredible time of studying the Word together and corporately singing in worship. We are still trying to build a solid base of students who we can begin training and equipping for the ministry of disciple making. Please continue to pray that we connect with students who share the vision of reaching the campus for Jesus. We have been active during the first several weeks as we have offered several events, participated in on campus recruiting efforts, and served the campus by giving away waters. We are making plans currently for our Fall Retreat, and if you would like to help support a student attend or even contribute to the cost of the retreat, please contact David. Last year, this retreat was vital to our ministry and the forming of gospel relationships and building community. Please pray that students see the value in this time and that they commit to participating in Fall Retreat. Thank you for your partnership in the Gospel and thank you for praying for ministry at CCU. We could have the impact we do with college students without your support and partnership, so thank you. Please continue to pray that God would open doors on the campus and that we would see salvations! Praying alongside you for college students, David Neacedavidneace@hotmail.com Page 3 COASTLINE WOMEN S CENTER UPDATE Greetings! What a busy and blessed quarter it has been! Our medical conversion is continuing to progress! God is answering our prayers and providing every need along the way! We will soon be renovating and preparing to meet the medical needs of our clients. This past week one of our client volunteers led a young woman to Christ! In addition we are leading eight women in our post abortion Bible study class. Abortion brings so much loss and pain but our God is a forgiving God and He is doing a great work already in the hearts of these women. It truly blesses me to watch lives transformed by God's grace and forgiveness. I remain in complete thankfulness to the Association for allowing this ministry a venue to grow and help others! Save the Date of March 3rd, we will be hosting our 2nd annual Spring to Life Gala! If you have any interest in volunteering or supporting Coastline in a more personal way please contact me. There is always much to do and few hands to do it. Please visit anytime during our operation hours! God Bless! Jeannie Smith Coastline Women's Center Founder/CEO LEADERSHIP TRACK The Leadership Track sessions are going very well. There are three different sessions: a morning session at FBC Surfside, a morning session at the association office and an evening session at the association office. A total of 36 pastors and church staff are enrolled. Each group will meet once a month for a year. NEXT LEADERSHIP TRACK SESSION is scheduled for Tuesday, October 13.
4 Page 4 FROM YOUR DOM ctober is an exciting O and busy month for most churches with fall festivities and homecoming celebrations, revivals and many other things going on that capture our time and attention. More importantly, it has also been designated as Pastor Appreciation month. Pastor Appreciation Month is a special time that congregations set aside each year to honor their pastors and pastoral families for the hard work, sacrificial dedication and multiple blessings provided by these special people. It is also important to remember that appreciation, affirmation and prayer support of our spiritual leaders is appropriate throughout the entire year. That s why God has instructed us to recognize His servants. WMU PRISONER PACKETS The Christmas Packet for Prisoners began in It is a joint project of the SCBC and SCWMU. Last year, you helped raise approximately 25,000 packets. Our goal is to give a packet to every adult and juvenile inmate in a state correctional institute. Many men, women and youth have no one who cares for them. They have no visitors, nor do they receive gifts at Christmas. You make Christmas special for them through this ministry. You provide hope and love. As a result, some have received the true Christmas gift. They have come to know Christ because you care. The packets are given to the inmates by the chaplains with the help of volunteers. If your church would like to be involved in distributing the packets, contact your chaplain. The Missions Mobilization Group SCBC has a list of chaplains. Please call if you have questions. The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching (1 Timothy 5:17). The nature of the service provided by pastors and their families is unique. God has entrusted to them one of the most precious of assignments the spiritual well-being of His flock. When a pastor becomes ineffective, the very souls of his or her parishioners are endangered. When eternity is in the balance, we should all be concerned. There are many ways you can show your pastor you appreciate him. Here are some ideas: * You could put a mailbox out in the foyer so that each member will have a 2015 Prisoner Packet Items Please place the following items into a one gallon Ziploc bag: One black non-retractable pen (no wire clip, no other ink colors allowed) One 5.8 oz. or larger toothpaste (no travel size) One adult individual factory-sealed toothbrush (no multipacks) One 4 to 6 oz. bar of soap (no travel size) One junior legal or no larger than 5½ x 8 writing tablet (no wire bound and no 9 x 12 tablets) Five first class stamp embossed #10 (long) envelopes (purchase at US Post Office) Two rolls of candy (Lifesaver, Mentos or Breath Savers type) All items must fit in the gallon size zipper bag with zipper closed securely. Annual Church Profiles T The Kingdom Focus chance to drop him a card or a small gift for the month of October (This is a very effective way to let your pastor know you appreciate him.) * You could have a special dinner to honor him and his wife * You could give him a monetary gift, gift card or gift certificate. * You could have a special service honoring him and his wife. There are a lot of churches in South Carolina that do not have a pastor, so if you have one, you are blessed. So please honor him this month in some way. Thank You, Tommy Richardson, Director of Missions he purpose of the Annual Church Profile (ACP) is to get an accurate picture of South Carolina Baptist Convention (SCBC) churches in all areas of church life. The ACP is not a standards test by which a church s value or importance is measured. It is simply an effort to gather accurate information about churches. The ACP enables your church to examine its progress of ministry & growth. Your church has an important role in reporting the history & growth of the South Carolina Baptist Convention. Until every church has reported, associational, state, & Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) records are incomplete. ACPs DUE TO WBA OFFICE BY OCTOBER 12, 2015

Special music will be provided by Mended Wings and guest preacher is Hobart Johnson. There will be dinner on the grounds following the service. Everyone is welcome to attend. In John 6, Jesus fed the 5,000; he only had 5 barley loaves and 2 small fish. It seemed to be a small amount but Jesus used it in a big way. In August of this year I took a team of 22 people to North Pole, Alaska. We had a 10,000 square foot roof to remove and replace. When we went there, the materials were not there nor was the dumpster there to throw the trash in. Also the church asked if we could paint the church while we were there. It looked like a task that would not get completed - but with God all things are possible. We were able to remove and replace the old roof and paint the entire church. God used a small group of people to do a great big job. While we were there one of our mission team members accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. Since then the church has began to move forward to reach the community of North Pole. I want to take this time to think WBA for praying for and letting me go to Alaska this year, I also want to thank Juniper Bay Baptist church for their financial contribution to help this Mission trip become a success.
