2 ADA FRYRRICK TO SPEAK ON GENESIS Ada Feyerick, granddaughter of our late aeaber, Bella Pesin, after whom our library is named, will speak follow ing Shabbat aorning services ~n Saturday morning, October 18th. Mrs. Feyerick 'will speak about her new book, "Genesis: World of Myths and Patriarchs," and show, slides of archeological sit'es and other Middle.East locations that she visiteddurin~ her many years of research. A recent review of "Genesis... " called it "a beautifully wrought volu~e complete with superb photographs and excellent essaies." We are certain that you will not want to miss the opportunity to meet Ada Feyerick and hear her fascinating presentation. The program is free, however, reservations are required for the light Kiddush luncheon which will be served after the presentation. The service will be conducted by Teaple aeabers and is open to children and their parents. FROM RABBI BRICKMAN For the first time in many years, Temple Beth-EI is privileged to have on our staff a Rabbinic Intern froa the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in New York.

7 FROM RABBI BRICKMAN For the first time in many years, Temple Beth-EI is privileged to have on our staff a Rabbinic Intern froa the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in New York. Our Rabbinic Intern, Andrew Davids, joine d our staff last February as our Sunday Schoo l and Hebrew School teacher. Beginning' in September, he officially became our Rabbinic Inte rn. While Andrew's primary responsibility remains teaching the children in our Sunday School a nd Hebrew School classes, ' he will also b e conducting Family Education Programs and Family Services. Andrew will als o be working wi t h our Members h ip Committee, as i t focuses, on the downtown a r ea of the cit y i n its intensi ve me mbership outr e ach drive. Having a Rabbinic I nte rn, however, also places a responsibility on me and the congregation. In exchange for Andrew's e n thusiasm and the unique skills that he brings to our congregation, we are obligated to provide him with as full an exposure to the life of the congregational rabbinate as we can. Therefore, Andrew will on occasion join me on the bimah in leading services and preaching. Throughout the year,' as various life-oycle events occur in the families of our oongregation, Andrew will accoapany ae and participate in those ceremonies. Andrew will also assist me in hospital visits and may on occasion visit members of the congregation on his own. Finally, in order to familiarize Andrew with the inner workings of our congregation, he will attend board meetings and committee meetings, as his schedule allows. When not at the Temple, Andrew will be spending his time with his wife, Jen, and their twin sons, Erez and Natan, in their home in the Jersey City Heights. When you meet Andrew, please introduce yourself to him, and help make his experienoe here a rewarding one.
