If you do not own a set of prayerbooks, please contact the Temple office in order to purchase a set. The cost is $5.00. Prayerbooks must be purchased prior to Rosh HaShanah, because they will not be available at services. High Holy Day Baby-sitting Baby-sitting will be available on the morning of the first day of Rosh HaShanah and on Yom Kippur morning. If you are interested in baby-sitting services, on either or both of these occasions, please call the Temple office( ), and let us know. There is no charge, however, reservations are required so that we will have proper supervision. Last call for Rosh HaShanah Cards The Temple is selling beautiful full-sized cards for the New Year. The cards come in packages of 5 for $5.00, and all proceeds benefit the Temple. 5 Thank You The Temple acknowledges with deep gratitude a very generous contribution from Betty Berger, which has enabled us to repair and refinish the lectern on the bimah in the social hall. *** Once again, Harold Rosen has used his decorating skills to enhance the beauty of our Temple. We are grateful to Harold for the artistic manner in which he refurbished the interior of the ark in the sanctuary. Thanks to Harold, who was assisted by Irwin Rosen and Tracy Crawford, our Torah scrolls now have a most beautiful setting in which to be displayed. Harold and Toby Rosen have dedicated the new interior of the ark to their beloved son, Irwin, in honor of his continuing service as president of Temple Beth-El. Hordes Lecture - Sunday, October 22nd The Violet Zall-Hordes Lecture Series is pleased to announce that our annual speaker this year will be Jenna Weissman Joselit, author of the recently published, critically acclaimed book, The Wonders of America: Reinventing Jewish Culture. Professor Joselit's presentation is part of our congregation's year-long anniversary celebration. We are certain that you will not want to miss her fascinating presentation, which will be held on Sunday October 22nd at 9:30 a.m. Tickets are available at the Temple office for $12.00, which includes a full breakfast. You may stop by the Temple office to pick up your tickets, or send your check to the Temple, and we'll mail your tickets out.
