BOTTOM LINE God keeps His promises. BASIC TRUTH God loves me. Gather children for a Large Group time that includes interactive worship, the introductory sketch, and the Bible story. The Stage Script is written for those who gather their preschoolers together from multiple rooms and have a larger space on which to present the Bible story. If you are pulling your children to a rug to one side of your preschool space, you may benefit from using the Rug Script. WORSHIP A Worship Leader and live instruments are recommended to sing along with the music tracks. Encourage children to be active during worship by incorporating the appropriate hand motions. WHAT YOU NEED: Paperclip Memory Verse Card in your Bible at Proverbs 3:5, NCV. You will need a CD player and this month s worship song, Promises, which is included in your monthly files. The dance moves for this song are available on the Dance Moves DVD, Hip Hip Hooray! You will also need No Matter What, available at AmberSkyRecords.com or on the Everybody Sing CD and Dance Moves DVD. WORSHIP LEADER: Good morning, everyone! It s so good to see you today. I can t wait to sing with you today. But first, tell me: Who keeps His promises? CHILDREN AND WORSHIP LEADER: God keeps His promises. WORSHIP LEADER: Yes, that s right! God keeps His promises. God loves us so much, and He wants us to trust Him. It s time to dance and sing. Are you ready? (Lead children in singing Promises, this month s worship song.) Yay! What incredible singers you are. Who keeps His promises? CHILDREN AND WORSHIP LEADER: God keeps His promises. WORSHIP LEADER: That s right! God keeps His promises. We can trust Him to do what He promises. Our memory verse says exactly that. Are you ready to do it with me? (Pause.) Let s do it! Let s sing together. (Lead children in singing No Matter What. ) I love singing about our God who loves us no matter what and will always be with us. Who keeps His promises? CHILDREN AND WORSHIP LEADER: God keeps His promises. STORY Choose an adult or teenager who relates well to preschoolers to tell the Introductory Sketch. If possible, use the same person for an entire month, as the Host role stays the same each month. Choose an engaging adult to tell the Bible story. This person should be able to command the attention of preschoolers and control the group through animated storytelling. These scripts are written to be told and not read. Advanced preparation is necessary. First Look offers weekly introductory sketch and Bible story videos on the DVD titled Wonder! Look at God s Story. This DVD is available for purchase at OrangeStore.org or as part of your monthly Media Package. INTRODUCTORY SKETCH WHAT YOU NEED: An easel with a blank piece of white paper; a paper plate with a little bit of washable yellow, green, and blue finger paint; a large T-shirt or paint smock for the Host to wear; a rag to clean fingers; and a preset table next to the easel onstage HOST: (Enter wearing the paint smock and carrying the paper plate with the paint.) Hello, friends! How is everyone today? If you re happy to be at church today, say, Oh yeah! CHILDREN: Oh yeah! HOST: (Places plate with paint on the table.) Awesome! Me too! Now, I don t know about you, but I LOVE color. We re learning all about colors this month. I could just tell you today s color but I d rather SHOW you. (Put some yellow paint on finger.) This is yellow. And here s one of my favorite yellow things. (Use finger to paint a sun in the top corner of the page.) What does that look like? CHILDREN: The sun! 2018 The ReThink Group. 5 10 UTES 10 UTES (Uses rag to clean off finger.) HOST: Yes! The sun! (Puts some green paint on finger; draw in some grass below the sun but only HALFWAY across the page.) This paint is green. We see lots of green things each day. (Use rag to clean off finger.) One of my favorite green things is grass. I love the way grass smells right after it rains. (Put some blue paint on finger.) But do you know what I REALLY love? This color. It s BLUE. Blue is my favorite because it s the color of the sea. (Use the blue paint to cover the entire bottom of the page.) I LOVE to go to the sea and play in the waves. There are so many cool animals that live in the sea too. There are fish and dolphins and seahorses and starfish! I just love the deep blue sea. (Step back to admire the painting. Use rag to clean off finger.) Look at all these beautiful colors! Yellow, green, and of course my favorite: BLUE! So pretty. I think I ll go hang this up to dry. See you later, friends! (Host removes the painting but leaves the easel on stage; Storyteller enters carrying Bible and Page 2 Art as noted below.) BIBLE STORY WHAT YOU NEED: A Bible, 3 standing easels (can use the one from the Host Intro Sketch); and 4 large pieces of prepared art paper (see note below); preset Easel 1 and 3 onstage with their prepared art pages as noted below NOTE: Create four simple drawings to tell today s Bible story. Page 1 Fill an art paper page with black X s to represent Pharaoh s army, and place it on the first easel. Page 2 Fill a page with green dots (can use a dot marker) to represent Moses and the Israelites. Page 3 Fill a page with brown paint and place it on Easel 3 to create the dry land. Page 4 Cut another art paper page into two pieces horizontally; fill the two halves with blue paint to create the sea. Attach the top half to the top of Easel 3 so that it covers page 3; attach the bottom half on Easel 3 with a binder clip on the left hand side so that it bumps up against the top half, covering all of the brown underneath STORYTELLER: (Enter carrying Bible and Page 2 artwork for the easel.) 6 10 UTES 10 UTES CHILDREN: Oh yeah! STORYTELLER: Awesome! I m certainly glad to be here too, because today I have an awesome TRUE story straight from the Bible (hold up Bible) and let me tell you, this true story is amazing! Our story starts with a man named Moses. Moses had just gone to Egypt to save God s people, the Israelites. They had been kept there by a very mean king, Pharaoh. He was scary, but God promised to save His people from him. So Moses came to speak to Pharaoh, and Pharaoh agreed to let the people go. Everyone say, Hooray! CHILDREN: Hooray! STORYTELLER: (Pull Easel 2 to the center of the stage and place the art paper with the green dots on it.) God promised to rescue His people, the Israelites, and when God makes a promise, He always keeps it! God s promises are awesome. Let s pretend these dots are Moses and the Israelites God s people. (Pull Easel 1 with the X s to the left of Easel 2.) Later on, after saying he would let God s people go, Pharaoh the mean king changed his mind. He came running after them on his chariot with all of his army. Let s pretend these X s are Pharaoh s army. (Point.) Oh no! They re moving in fast. (Pull Easel 3 with the blue water to the right of Easel 2.) Pharaoh s army chased the Israelites all the way to the sea! So let s pretend this is the sea. Oh NO! What are the Israelites going to do? They ve got the sea on this side. (Point to Easel 3.) And Pharaoh s army is quickly moving in on the other! (Point to Easel 1.) They can t go this way (point to Easel 3) or this way (point to Easel 1). They looked left. Everyone look left. (Children look left). They looked right. Everyone look right. (Children look right.) Then left again. (Children look left.) Then right again! (Children look right.) Then left again. (Children look left.) Then right again. (Children look right.) Then left, right, left, right. (Laugh.) Whoa! Everybody stop! The Israelites were so scared, but God promised to save them, right? Yes! And God keeps His promises. Get ready for the awesome part. (Walk to Easel 3.) So God told Moses to hold out his walking stick, and all of a sudden, the water started to move and make a path for God s people to walk on! (Open the binder clip with one hand and slide the bottom half of the blue paper down to reveal the brown dry land underneath.) God parted the deep blue sea so His people could walk right through it! They were saved. How AWESOME and AMAZING is that? God moved an entire sea so Moses could lead His people through. God promised to save His people from the mean king Pharaoh and He kept His promise in the most AWESOME way ever! God s promises are AWESOME. Who keeps his promises? CHILDREN AND STORYTELLER: God keeps His promises. STORYTELLER: Yes, He does. Let s pray and thank God for always keeping His promises to us The ReThink Group. All rights reserved. 6

We can trust You to always keep Your promises because You love us. Help us to trust You every day. In Jesus name we pray, amen. (Host enters. Storyteller exits.) OUTRO SKETCH WHAT YOU NEED: Easels from the Bible story and the painting from the Intro Sketch HOST: (Enter carrying painting from Intro Sketch.) Wow! Look at all these beautiful colors. But you know what? Now that it s dry, I think it could use even MORE color. So I m going to add some more paint to this picture. After all, there are so many other colors to choose from, like red and purple and orange. I guess I better get busy. Painting with my favorite colors is definitely awesome.
