The Rug Script is written for those who pull their children to a rug (or area) to one side of their preschool space to tell the Bible story. If you gather your preschoolers together from multiple rooms and have a larger space on which to present the Bible story, you may benefit from using the Stage Script. WORSHIP Use the full mix of the monthly song provided with the curriculum to lead your preschoolers in worship. Encourage children to be active during worship by incorporating the appropriate hand motions. WHAT YOU NEED: Paperclip Memory Verse Card in your Bible at Proverbs 3:5, NCV. You will need a CD player and this month s worship song, Promises, which is included in your monthly files. The dance moves for this song are available on the Dance Moves DVD, Hip Hip Hooray! LEADER: Yay! I m so glad to see you today! It s so much fun to sing with you. And I love learning all about God with you. This month has been full of colors as we learn about how God keeps His promises. Who keeps His promises? LEADER: Yes, He does! And we have a song about promises! Let s sing it together. (Lead children in singing Promises, this month s worship song.) Great singing, my friends. I love singing about God. Remember, God keeps His promises. Who keeps His promises? LEADER: Exactly. God keeps His promises. It s time to practice our memory verse. Are you ready? 4 10 UTES 10 UTES STORY Choose an engaging adult to tell the Bible story. This person should be able to command the attention of preschoolers and control the group through animated storytelling. These scripts are written to be told and not read. Advanced preparation is necessary. First Look offers weekly introductory sketches and Bible stories on the DVD titled Wonder, Look at God s Story. This DVD is available for purchase at OrangeStore.org or as part of your monthly Media Package. WHAT YOU NEED: A Bible, LEADER: Today s true story straight from the Bible (hold up Bible) begins with a young couple named Abraham and Sarah. One night, God took Abraham outside and told him to look up at the stars. He promised Abraham that one day he would have a family with as many people in it as there are stars in the sky! Wow! Have you ever tried to count the stars? That s a LOT. And that s a pretty big promise. But does God keep His promises? CHILDREN: Yes! LEADER: Yes, he does! Abraham and Sarah were ready to have a baby. They wanted a baby. So they waited and waited and waited for God to keep His promise, but still there was no baby. No problem, Abraham thought. God keeps His promises. We ll just wait some more. And wait. And wait. And wait. And wait. Abraham and Sarah didn t just wait for hours or days. They waited for years until they were both very old. Then one day, God sent three men with a message. They told Abraham, God wants you to know that Sarah s going to have a baby one year from now. Well, Sarah heard what they said and she thought it was funny. Do you know what she did? She laughed! Why did she laugh? Because by this time, Sarah was very old. How could she have a baby? But you tell me: Is anything too hard for God? CHILDREN: No! LEADER: Nope! When God makes a promise, He always keeps it. And one year later Sarah had a baby boy! They named him Isaac. God kept His promise just like He said he would. God kept His promise to Abraham, and He will keep His promise to you too. God keeps His promises even if we have to wait. So tell me: Who keeps His promises? LEADER: Yes, He does! And I m so glad. Let s pray and thank God for always keeping His promises to us The ReThink Group. All rights reserved. 4
