1 21 st October The Greatest Delight - Al Malik, Al Maalik, Al Maliik Sister Eman al Obaid This is an attribute of Allah subhana wa ta'ala which consists of three Names of Allah. This name makes one to magnify Allah subhana wa ta'ala more. This name is in Surat al Fatihah. Al Malik, Al Maalik, Al Maliik Allah subhana wa ta'ala is the King and The Owner Al malik in Arabic is one who doesn t own but controls. Al maalik in Arabic is the person who owns but doesn t have the full authority like a King who can make the rules. 1
2 Allah huwa Al Malik, al Maalik - Asma ul Husna A beautiful name, and at the same time there is an attribute. He is the Owner, a real Owner and the real King. You can call people malik, but their owning is not perfect. For all the Names of Allah there is an attribute. The Difference between the Kingship and Ownership of Allah subhana wa ta'ala, and the kingship and ownership of the human being. How are human being when they own? Human being can own so many things. When you own anything are you sure you will benefit from it? No. When they advertise things in the papers (i.e. an exercise bike), you buy it and are so happy when you receive it, after 2 or 3 days you don t use it. Sometimes you don t own things but you benefit from it the weather, the sea, the moon etc. Something you own you cannot guarantee you will own it forever. We are not the owner because you can leave it or it will leave you. We say we own something but it is not the real ownership people are deceived by this. Do you own your children? Can you own your husband? People are so possessive as if they own their children, as if they own their husband, so they are in life in difficulty. Sometimes you own something but you cannot take care of it i.e. your car, your health. What we think we own, we are not the real owner. The real owner is Allah subhana wa ta'ala which will make a human being very humble. When you think you are the owner it will make you arrogant and exceed your boundaries i.e. thinking you are better than someone else. Our ownership is not perfect because Allah subhana wa ta'ala is giving to us. How Allah subhana wa ta'ala is the Real Owner Mulkillah Allah subhana wa ta'ala is the Owner of the Real Kingship. He is the Real King, He owns everything which your eyes can see and what your eyes cannot see: Allah subhana wa ta'ala owns everything that you own, Allah subhana wa ta'ala owns you, Allah subhana wa ta'ala owns what you have, Allah subhana wa ta'ala owns what you don t see. Allah subhana wa ta'ala owns whatever is in the Heavens and the Earth, Allah subhana wa ta'ala is on the Only Owner. 2
3 What is the description of Allah subhana wa ta'ala mentioned in Ayatul Kursi? 2:255 To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. To Allah subhana wa ta'ala belongs the living and the non living things in the whole Universe. Allah subhana wa ta'ala owns the planets and the moons. This will make us humble to Allah subhana wa ta'ala and really magnify Allah subhana wa ta'ala. As Shaakur Ash Shakur will make you to love Allah subhana wa ta'ala, it is a soft name. The name Al Malik will make you to love & magnify Allah subhana wa ta'ala. Human owner ship is Allah subhana wa ta'ala s ownership is Allah s Ownership, His Kingship is real. Kingship You have so many kings, but who makes them to be a king? Allah subhana wa ta'ala. Chapter (3) sūrat āl ʿim'rān (The Family of Imrān) 3:26 Say (O Muhammad SAW): "O Allah! Possessor of the kingdom, You give the kingdom to whom You will, and You take the kingdom from whom You will, and You endue with honour whom You will, and You humiliate whom You will. In Your Hand is the good. Verily, You are Able to do all things. When you see somebody having a position and you don t like this person, you complain, why did they put this person in this position? Allah subhana wa ta'ala put them in this position. It is not our duty to say he is good or bad. What is your test? Just to think Allah subhana wa ta'ala put this person in this position. If you see someone removed from a position, who made the decree to remove them? Allah subhana wa ta'ala. Even someone who is a King, who is a President, before they were an ordinary person (in some countries). Our job is not to criticise or judge, our responsibility, our test is to think Look how Allah subhana wa ta'ala made someone a king / a president. 3
4 Our duty is to see Allah subhana wa ta'ala s actions. But people just judge and criticise. Our duty is to know Allah subhana wa ta'ala more through His actions. Especially with kingship, this is one of the actions to think this is really an action of Allah subhana wa ta'ala and there is a wisdom behind it. One day you see someone with a Ferrari and think before he was just a cook. This is not our job. These things should may you to look at how Allah subhana wa ta'ala gives and doesn t give. So many things we cannot pass judgement on. These incidents, ownership and kingship which happen in life should make you look at Allah subhana wa ta'ala s actions. Allah subhana wa ta'ala is the true and real King. When a boss or head of a department is strong and tough, everyone will be scared of him / her. Because we only know about people when they have a position how does our heart change towards them? You give them more RESPECT. Maybe the boss was once your colleague, as soon as she got promoted it was different, you needed to ask them, you needed to take her permission etc. When someone gets promoted at work our relationship with them changes. We are not really estimating Allah subhana wa ta'ala Who is the Real King and the Real Owner. But with human kingship and ownership we will give them respect. When you know Allah subhana wa ta'ala this will make you La illaaha illa Allah (None has the right to be worshipped except Allah). People need respect they need this or that but don t fear them and not fear Allah subhana wa ta'ala. At work they tell you to come at five o clock, if you go you will get a bonus, a reward as encouragement. If Allah subhana wa ta'ala is telling you how much reward you will get for the prayer, how much Allah subhana wa ta'ala will forgive you for your sins, then I will think about it because I am tired. For the dunya everybody is running. You don t know the Real King. Any king, if you are working anywhere it is very difficult to communicate with the head of the country. Can we talk to ministers, no, you need an appointment. You have to give these people an excuse because they are human. 4
5 When we know about the Real King, there is no waiting. With human beings there is a long queue just to tell them what you want and he / she will think about it. With the Real King nobody is waiting in a queue, you will approach Him and He will accept you just by you making du a to Allah subhana wa ta'ala anytime you want. Anytime you want, not anytime Allah subhana wa ta'ala wants, anytime you want to be close to the King, anytime whatever you desire from the King, whatever your wishes, anytime you are the one who will start the meeting. Allah subhana wa ta'ala appreciates your movements. You don t need to wait, you don t need to write a letter, you don t need to travel, just with your heart you will have that meeting. The ni amah from Allah subhana wa ta'ala. Allah subhana wa ta'ala allows us to pray 5 times a day, 5 times a day to meet the King. Think of prayer differently, something so special, Allah subhana wa ta'ala made it easy for us, 5 times a day for everybody, a compulsory meeting with your Creator. The more you are in the prayer in the sujood, the closer you are to the King. And still we are begging people, asking from them, fearing from them. InshaAllah to be continued. We ask Allah subhana wa ta ala for His forgiveness and His Mercy. Anything that is good from these notes is from Allah subhana wa ta ala. Any mistakes & misrepresentations are my own.
