Impacts of Knowing Name of Allah: Al Qudoos Tuesday, December THE MOST PURE - The One who is Very Pure, Absolutely Pure ;(س د ق) Al Quddos is from the root qaaf-daal-seen taharah (cleanliness). barakah, a lot of goodness Allah swt did not tell us to worship Him without knowing Him. Allah swt is telling us that the Most Beautiful Names belong to Him. When you know Allah swt by His Most Beautiful Names automatically you will worship Him. And the worship means you attach to Allah swt out of attachment and humiliation. You cannot get that without knowing Allah swt. The more Names of Allah swt you know the more you will understand the Qur an. When we talk about the hadith or surah s of the Qur an you will easily see the connection with the Name Al Qudoos. All the Names of Allah swt are connected to everything. For example whatever you are learning of the Qur an right now you will see the Name of Allah Al Qudoos. Whatever Allah swt prescribed and decreed is connected to Al Qudoos. Even how Allah swt deals with you is Qudoos. You need to make taqdeesallah. You need to deal with Allah swt as if He is Al Qudoos. Don t deal with Allah swt as if He is acting in vain or you need some clarification from Him. You need to do taqdeesallah swt. Application of the Name Al Qudoos You can apply the name Al Qudoos by saying it in your du a. You can say the name Al Qudoos in the sujood and in the ruku. Suboohun Quddusun rabb ul malaa ikati war rooh : the One who is Praised a lot; the One who is very Pure; Lord of the angels and of Jibril. Why do we say this in ruku` and sajdah? It is humility: you acknowledge Allah s Purity and that He is Rabb, and it reminds you how small we are. The angels specialize in the taqdees they are pure and they are ascribing all the purity to Allah swt.

Chapter (2) sūrat l-baqarah (The Cow) 2:30 And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "Indeed, I will make upon the earth a successive authority." They said, "Will You place upon it one who causes corruption therein and sheds blood, while we declare Your praise and sanctify You?" Allah said, "Indeed, I know that which you do not know." The people are bad, the ones who dwell on the Earth. So many actions happen around us, if the actions are bad Allah swt knows what is best. When the angels say this there is no rejection and no objection to the commands this is what we know of the creation that Allah swt is Al Qudoos. Adam (RA) after he was created ate from the tree. When Allah swt brought Adam (RA) down to the earth who committed the first murder on earth? When can we apply the Name of Allah Al Qudoos? In the time of affliction affliction for us or an affliction in general a vast affliction. Are you believing Allah swt Al Qudoos or are you believing your eyes? One important impact of believing Allah Al Qudoos is husna bilallah thinking good about Allah swt. The ignorant think bad about Allah swt jahiliya. One decree or command is bad but the big picture is good. Like one piece missing from a puzzle one decree appears bad but the whole picture is good. When you believe Allah Al Qudoos you don t need an explanation for the people anyone doing good will be rewarded, anyone doing bad Allah swt will punish, you cannot judge. Your duty is to not think about the people but to think about yourself, are you doing good? You need to worry about yourself. During the time of fitna what is recommended? To stay at home, the best place for us is our home, wherever in the world you are living your home is the safest place. Even if there are problems in your home the safest place is your home and the Qur an is your companion. When the Dajjal comes the people will be hypnotized if we don t have the firm faith about the unseen quickly we will follow the Dajjal. If we cannot stand the trials now how can we stand the Dajjal when it comes. May Allah swt have mercy on us, may Allah swt have mercy on our children. Deviation in the religion Someone may appear very religious but look at their actions there is not an atom of religion in their actions. If someone is really abd (slave) they would not harm the earth. They would be scared to kill an ant. Don t judge Just go back to the Qur an

You can see the perfection in the Qur an so go back to the perfection. You could deviate if you don t know what is right and what is wrong. Today people are deviated because they have no knowledge of the Qur an. So go back to the Qur an Kalamullah. And go back to the Names of Allah. You will see Al Qudoos in the calamities and afflictions because Allah swt is testing you about His Perfection. Where is the test if everything is nice? Are you really believing or not believing? On the Day of Judgement everyone will believe but there is no point because now you are seeing. Now you need to believe in Allah swt, believe in the unseen. Don t believe in the tangible. How do we think bad about Allah swt? When we think bad about Allah swt that is negating Al Qudoos The Absolutely Pure. The impact of Al Qudoos is thinking good about Allah swt. We may be thinking about Allah swt without realising. We can be thinking bad about Allah swt regarding: The decree, the commands, the promises Or thinking the opposite of what Allah swt tells us, or what the Prophet (saws) tells us about Allah swt Al Qudoos is connected to the many Names of Allah swt. You need to think the same for all the Names of Allah and not think the opposite. 1. Denying any decree Thinking any decree that happens is not the decree of Allah swt, it happened because I wanted it to happen or someone else did this. When the decree is attributed to the means they deny the decree of Allah swt and this is thinking bad about Allah swt. When you are facing the decree through the people i.e. someone insults you, you are thinking bad about Allah because you are thinking that the person is negating the decree of Allah swt. When you associate the decree to the other party in the decree, the people involved, it makes you sad and depressed. When you think that this is QadrAllah this is thinking good about Allah swt. When you associate the decree with the actors in the decree you are thinking bad about Allah swt. This is QadrAllah. In this life think you are in a game with obstacles which you have to overcome, challenges which you have to continuously overcome to reach your goal. Don t think the decree is because of the people, the decree is unseen, the decree is from Allah swt. 2. The decree has a perfect wisdom. There are many things in the decree we don t like. You see something bad but it is good. You see something good but it is bad. There maybe something in life you hate, a relative, a situation, but this situation may take you to paradise. Maybe something you desire may not take you to paradise because it causes you to commit shirk. Patience is from knowing Allah is Al Qudoos, He has Perfect Wisdom. That which you hate and Allah swt decreed it for you - Allah swt will put barakah in it. This is what you need to believe. Whatever the decree Allah Al Qadoos, so perfect, so don t associate it with the people, this will make you to think good. There is so much hikmah in whatever Allah swt decrees.

When you believe Allah swt is Al Qadoos you don t need to see what is the hikmah. For you, you just need to believe, and the same for the angels. You need to believe Allah swt is Al Hakim you see the hikmah then you believe. Things happen which you hate, I believe it is the decree and I believe it the perfect hikmah. And you don t say if you don t look back. If it happened, it has to happen. When we fall sick or anything happens in our life, this is reviving our faith. The sickness is expiating our sins and reviving our faith this makes you more abd (slave). The first human being ate from the tree, they had children and what did they do, one killed the other. There is hikmah in this, you need to believe in the hikmah. If you think bad about Allah swt you are only harming yourself. You will be tense thinking why did this happen to me?. People don t know what you are going through, they will make you feel more bad about yourself. Allah swt knows. If you know Allah swt then every decree has hikmah. You need to praise this decree. You feel good because the decree is from Allah swt, there is a wisdom and I don t even need to know what is the wisdom like the angels. Even if you see the contrary you know there is wisdom. People are wasting their time looking for the wisdom behind the decree. You need to believe. 3. You need to praise Allah swt for this decree You need to praise Allah swt for the decree even if you hate it. Chapter (4) sūrat l-nisāa (The Women) 4:19 O you who have believed, it is not lawful for you to inherit women by compulsion. And do not make difficulties for them in order to take [back] part of what you gave them unless they commit a clear immorality. And live with them in kindness. For if you dislike them - perhaps you dislike a thing and Allah makes therein much good. This is for the decree. Chapter (2) sūrat l-baqarah (The Cow) 2:216 Fighting has been enjoined upon you while it is hateful to you. But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not.

This is for the commands. Even if you hate it, it does not mean it is bad. You need to think good about Allah swt regarding the decree of Allah swt, the decree is from Allah swt so don t think about the actors in the decree. There is wisdom in the decree and Allah swt deserves the praise for the decree. When it happens say AlhamdulilAllah. In the times of goodness you will say AlhamduliLlah. In the times of affliction you will say AlhamduliLlah. Al-Hamd Al Hamd means you praise Allah swt. Disliking the decree is dispraise. The actions of Allah swt being praiseworthy, whatever Allah swt decrees regarding people or the creation. You don t know the wisdom, you don t need to know the wisdom, you just need to believe. For example, Iblis is bad but Allah swt created him. In this life is the belief. Allah swt tells us how to protect ourselves from shaitan. People say why but this is thinking about Allah swt. Chapter (48) sūrat l-fatḥ (The Victory) 48:27 Certainly has Allah showed to His Messenger the vision in truth. You will surely enter al-masjid al-haram, if Allah wills, in safety, with your heads shaved and [hair] shortened, not fearing [anyone]. He knew what you did not know and has arranged before that a conquest near [at hand]. For every bone, muscle, organ and cell in your body there is a complete wisdom. There is not one bone in the body which you don t need. Another way of thinking bad about Allah swt is thinking that man was created in vain so he/she doesn t need to follow the commands, does not need to follow a religion. We are in this life to just eat, drink and die there are Muslims who think like this. The commands are from Allah swt so he has not neglected us. If someone thinks there is no purpose to this life they are thinking bad about Allah swt, they are denying His power, they are denying the Messengers, they are denying the books. They are denying the purpose of their lives. Allah swt did not leave us without the commands and without the legislation. What about the animals? They don t have commands but on the Day of Judgement Allah swt will judge between them. There is a purpose to the decree There is a purpose to the creation

There is a purpose to the commands Who is the one Allah swt commands? Allah swt commands: The human being The jinn The angels have other commands. Everything has a job, Allah swt prescribes a job which is suitable for them. Men and women have different roles. Thinking men and women are not treated equally is thinking bad about Allah swt. You are answerable for thinking bad about Allah swt. You can wrongly blame your lack of knowledge or blame the Qur an. Whatever Allah swt commands, whatever Allah swt legislates, Allah swt is Al Qudoos The Absolutely Pure, The One who is Blessed, the One who is the Source of All Good, The One with a lot of Khayr. Allah ta`ala (most High) is far from any impurity or imperfection. There are small details we don t even consider. Sometimes we do things and we say things thinking we are not doing bad. The more you know you realise that thinking bad about the decree, thinking bad about Allah swt, these are sins and you feel bad.
