Salai and Anna Main Road (K. K. Nagar). The tower has been provided with a sloping roof made from corrugated sheets. A police official told Mam- balam Times that the watch tower, which will be inaugurated soon, will help in monitoring the surroundings and also to regulate traffic. Nagar), who had stolen 2 kg of gold jewellery worth more than Rs. 50 lakhs over a period of two years, were arrested in Adyar on August 11. According to the police, S. Anandraj (40), resident of MGR Nagar (K.K. Nagar) and his colleagues M. Janakiraman and M. Prakasam, employees of SRS Jewellery (Sardar Patel Road, Adyar), had been systematically stealing jewellery from the shop and deleting the stock numbers from the records. Anandraj was working in the firm for seven years and was in charge of maintaining the stock, while the other two were counter staff. The incident came to light when S. Ravirathinam (the owner of SRS Jewellery) found discrepancies in the stock book. Grow One Crore Fruit Bearing Trees program in schools launched The National Green Corps (NGC), Chennai and Indo-International Initiative for Billions of Fruit Trees (IIIBFT) have jointly launched an environmental friendly initiative Grow One Crore Fruit Bearing Trees in 50 schools in Chennai. The program was first launched in Chennai Boys Higher Secondary School (Nungambakkam) last month.
