4 Dussehra Celebration (Burning the effigy of Ravana) On Monday, October 10th, we will celebrate the victory of righteousness over darkness with the burning of an effigy of Ravana. The burning of the effigy will start at about 7 PM. Prior to that there will be Vidya Aramba 6PM. This is a special puja to initiate children into the world of letters and learning and Dussehra being an especially auspicious day (symbolic of victory of light over darkness) to begin this journey. We invite everyone to join us. The Canteen will be open in the evening till 9 PM on that day. Volunteers are needed to build the effigy. If interested, please contact Vijay Ramnarain ( ) or Sudhir Jain ( ). This is a special event for children and we hope to see all children on October 10th at 6:00PM. October 2016 The Hindu Center of Virginia encourages all community members to avail the well equipped classrooms in the temple as well as the community hall with kitchen (NO COOK- ING) for your needs.
