Flowers at the altar are in loving memory of Golda Stubblefield by the Ann & Earl Stubblefield. Sanctuary Choir Pecan Sale. Order forms are available in the back of the sanctuary or see a choir member. Order deadline is today, October 28 th. No Children s activities on October 31st. Trunk or Treat is today Sunday, October 28th at 5:30 PM. Everyone is welcome to join us for dinner at 5:30 we will be serving pizza! Trunk or Treat will follow, wear your Halloween costumes and enjoy the fun! Dinner on the Grounds. After our morning worship service on Nov. 11th there will be an old fashioned Dinner on the Grounds at Thornton Chapel. Bring the entire family and guests for a lunch time of fellowship, fun and thanksgiving. Fried catfish and all the fixings will be served. Sign up for the meal at the usher s tables at the rear of the sanctuary. Men s Bible Study. Men s Bible Study will meet November 8 th at 7 AM. Ruth Jones Circle. Ruth Jones Circle will meet November 12 th at 7 PM. Beverly Green and Sharee Schafer are the hostesses. If you have not received an e-newsletter, or if you wish to receive future e- newsletters, please complete the sign-up form in the fellowship hall. Ongoing Opportunities Quilting Group meets the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month at 10:00 am. Mature Years will meet the 1st Wednesday of every month at 2:30. RECORDS UPDATE...Please let the church office know if any changes need to be made to the Concerns of Our Church Family list. Stretching in the Spirit Exercise Class meets every Monday and Wednesday at 8:30 am.

5 A big thank you to all of you who were involved with the planning and putting together of my Surprise Sunday. I appreciate all the expressions of love and support throughout Pastor Appreciation Month. It is truly a blessing to be your pastor. In Christ, Bro David Prayer for our Pastor. Today is the last Sunday of Pastor Appreciation Month. Earlier this month we mentioned that the best way you can support Brother David and Joy is through constant prayer for them. Here are some suggestions from the UMC Inspiration for Daily Living : pray for (1) their spiritual growth; (2) the wise use of their time; (3) their family; (4) guidance in preparing for the worship service; (5) their spiritual and emotional strength; (6) ability to lead our congregation; (7) management of their finances; (8) their health; (9) vision for our church; (10) for them to be encouraged every day. And let us continue to pray for them throughout the other 11 months of the year. MISSION OPPORTUNITIES NOVEMBER COMMUNION OFFERING IN HIS STEPS MINISTRIES Our Mission: In His Steps Ministries desires to use innovative and specialized ministries to impact the lives of people for the glory of Jesus Christ. Given this desire, IHS sees the first element of its mission as evangelizing, discipling and guiding juvenile offenders and their families. The second element of the mission of IHS is to provide long-term preventive services for a select group of at-risk children beginning in the 2nd grade and continuing through the 12th grade by way of the Christ-centered S.P.A.S.E. initiative that includes an after school program, Saturday morning reading and science programs, and a six-week summer enrichment program. Thirdly, IHS offers family services including counseling, parenting workshops, and an annual family conference to all parents of IHS students. IHS renders compassionate services to the elderly, single parents, and disabled individuals by performing minor home renovations with the help of partnerships with local and out-of-state churches. Lastly, the sports ministry offers innovative evangelistic mentoring programs and weekly team devotionals for middle and high school athletes in order to promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ through sports and physical fitness. CHRISTMAS PRISON MINISTRY Today is the last day to donate to our Christmas 2018 Prison Ministry to Central Mississippi Correctional Facility in Pearl. We will be happy to shop for you if you make your checks payable to the church and mark as Christmas Prison Ministry. Thank you for helping make this a blessed success in His name.

6 SECOND SUNDAY HARVEST Grace Episcopal Church partnered with the Mississippi Food Network to provide food to the neediest among us. Grace Food Pantry is open from 10:00am-1:00 pm on the fourth Thursday of each month at Grace. If you would like to provide nonperishable food items to the pantry, please place your donations in the baskets located in the sub-story. ANGEL TREE Please look for upcoming information on our 2018 Angel Tree ministry. Methodist Memories. In the meantime the Sharon community had become outstanding by the coming of a considerable group of settlers from Adams and Jefferson counties and the beginnings of a strong church was started there as early as 1833, with the formal organization of the Sharon church in Leading Methodists were Dr. Birdsong W.M. Minter, a physician and local preacher, the Devine brothers, Ebenezer and Kinamen, Asa Coleman, Owen W. Baldwin, James S.
